Forsaken World [ Server Files ]

Hey everyone,

I'm happy to announce as my big thing for this year and kinda to piss off a few people, to finally release the Forsaken World server files, these files are compatible with Forsaken World Celestia or possibly even the Forsaken World Halcyon clients. Though these files are raw and have no instructions I think it would be good for the community to band together to create it's own section and possibly even post the instructions on how to put this together.

These files require RHEL ( Red Hat Enterprise Linux ) or any flavour such as CentOS / Fedora Core.

These files were released on the premise of people trying to figure them out and helping each other, don't be so stubborn to tell people on how you set them up. This is a public release not a private one for bigotry and ignorance.

It doesn't matter if it's old, for example: there are 1.3.6 servers of Perfect World that are better than two 1.4.4 servers that I know and the official.

You're right about the PW thing. I was playing on some Genesis Pservers recently, and the PVP is so unbalanced. It's too hard to find a good 1.3.6 server though, especially one fairly run and fun. :P

Okay firt of all i have nothing to do with the linux world
so i want to buy a dedicated but i have no idea which OS should i use..
can anyone give me the exact name ? (isn't CentOS is for a webhosting ?)

anyway , this is the most awesome release that came here after silkroad .

so what we need to do ? :
1.we have to get clear what configures we have to edit.
2.managing to restore the database + use it
3.finding the right combo to launch the server files
4.connecting with the client to our servers .

i'll start from a few things i've found (i dont have linux so those are what i can see from windows only ).

1.we have to setup jdk1.5.0_10 and jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9 (already inside)

2.we have to change all user name/passwords of the linux account
3.we have to change all the ip's to the server ip.
4.find out were is the missing binary's..
5.those are the db's backdbd = web DB and gamedbd GS DB read wpackage.beimei\srcfiles\scripts\backupdb for more info .
6.well here i'm kinda lost :P

Hopefully you guys can actually do something instead of cursing and fighting with this idiot.

AND AGAIN - THANKS A LOT FOR RELEASE THOSE AWESOME FILES
(even though a bit outdated..)
and seems like it used SunOS name sun4c

Hope we will get a section soon :P .

Ok so, all is working but gdeliveryd and gs.

When I start gs, I get this error:

./gs: symbol lookup error: ./gs: undefined symbol: _Z17LoadTasksFromPackP14elementdatamanPKcS2_S2_P9lua_State

Then, when I run gdeliveryd:

err : gdelivery::connect to GAuth server failed. Reconnecting....
TRACE : gwebtradeclient: connect to web trade server failed!
err : gdelivery::connect to GAuth server failed. Reconnecting....

Then, eventually the window becomes full of

err : gdelivery::connect to GAuth server failed. Reconnecting....
err : gdelivery::connect to GAuth server failed. Reconnecting....
err : gdelivery::connect to GAuth server failed. Reconnecting....
err : gdelivery::connect to GAuth server failed. Reconnecting....
err : gdelivery::connect to GAuth server failed. Reconnecting....

you can tell me go and learn the basics - and you will be kinda right - BUT , i have a basic experience with linux .. and i think to start with those server files would be awesome.

well , i have 4 servers Silkroad/Loong/Iris/Raiderz and i have enough dedi's , dont worry for my costs..

i'm in cloud sigma which gives you the option to format without problems to w/e you like (cloud servers) .

so i said why i wont use my old dedi (16GB RAM/Core i7 3.20) and format it into linux.. :P - i REALLY love Forsaken World , one of my favorites games .

Forsaken World You can complete into the game?Excuse me database What type sql mysql What kind of?Compressed package And in the place where I have not found.
Hope out a simple hypothesis tutorial
