    API Connection problems

    When trying to run Studio.exe and get ingame, I get a Communication Problem error.
    These 2 errors are in my log:

    000002.699| WO_API: http timeout
    000002.699| Login FAILED, code: 8

    Also if I run launcher, it gets stuck on Checking for new updater(try X) and then crashes.

    I searched through the forums for help, tried numerous solutions to these problems, I'm still missing something though. Can anyone help please?

    your configuration of the ip/domain of the api server is wrong inside the Eclipse Studio project. Somewhere you forgot to change the default settings and he is trying to connect to the wrong api server and gets no answer.

    it is, it must be the config that's causing trouble, can't find anything though

    Re: API Connection problems

    UPDATER_CONFIG.cpp in RSUpdate.sln line 14 through 16 or something like that
    Code:
    char    UPDATE_DATA_URL[512]     = "Yourdns.com/wz/wz.xml";    // url for data update
    char    UPDATE_UPDATER_URL[512]  = "Yourdns.com/wz/updater/woupd.xml";

    // HIGHWIND CDN
    char    UPDATE_UPDATER_HOST[512] = "Yourdns.com/wz/updater/";
    I could be wrong but check that out

    also make sure that you are running asp.net or IIS ;)

    Re: API Connection problems

    port 80 is most likely coming because this is a http request but just make sure that on your webserver that /WarZ/wz/updater/woupd.xml is the right path. if that is correct I am out of ideas... hopefully someone that is alot better at this can help you :)

    Re: API Connection problems

    The error is indicating that the connection was accepted, and because it is SSL/TLS, the TLS handshake begins.
    The server (meaning the code internal to the accept next connection method) receives the client's client hello message. The server then sends its server hello, Certificate, and the server hello done. The next step is to read from the client, and it is at this point that it finds the connection to has been closed.
    For some reason, either the client decided to close the connection, or an anti-virus program on either the client or server got in the way, or something else external disrupted the connection.
    You'll have to make sure you have enough system resources or that your anti-virus is not the issue; to name just 2 things it could be.

    that is the end of my log. the server and client can pass through my firewall and I have enough resources.
    any more ideas?

    If this is when you are running your updater it could be that the updater is pointing to the wrong place for wz.xml ... hence the 404 error code

    Ok thanks, i'll check that out and see if it is the issue. If not I'm going to start from scratch and see where I screwed up.
