hello my friend sorry for my english but i really need help

i'm trying to build up my own private server for me and my friend but there is a big problem i'm a begineer in that but i understand everything but there is some probleme when i create the sql server i have a connection page who tell me when i open management studio : type of server ? name of server and authentification the probleme is what's my server name ? i have only local host and it's not working please i do the mixed mode connection but i dont know where is my server with management studio thank you very much

Because you have to use the instance you put when you installed it.
If you don't remember go in the Sql Server Configuration manager

thank you very much i put in the server name Sofiane-PC\WarZ and it's now working but about the service pack we really need to install them ?

You really put WarZ on instance name when you installed sql server 2008 ?
You have the R2 or Express ?

yes i pute WarZ as name for my instance like the tutorial did and i have express

Ok , yea you have to install service pack 1 , 2 and 3

thank for your help but i have an other problem is about the configuration of the default web site with IISS in the tutorial the video maker have a files called index.php but me i have only those files what i have to do ?

Because you have to install the php.

what you mean i have to install the php ? where and how ? because in the video tutorial he found automaticaly the files i download all ready web platformer installer with asp.net and all that i really dont know what to do

how about the SQL server authentication log in and password where can i get this or how can i create my own
