[Help] VM host server
Hi,
I've been trying to set up a server using this tutorial: http://forum.ragezone.com/f791/tutor...erver-1010574/
The only thing that changes is that I'm using a Virtual Machine with Windows Server 2008 R2. I was able to set up everything, but when it comes to the part of IP adresses I'm lost. Ah, by the way, I'm also using a router (although the tutorial says that you can't). Do you think it's possible to run the server like that?
In the part of changing IPs from 127.0.0.1 and localhost to xx.xx.xx.xx, I've put my public Ip adress in there, and then I've opened the ports in the router for my private ip adress of the virtual machine.
Will it work or should I change something?
Thank you
ps: I'm going to prove it right now

Yes, ports: 80, 443 tcp and ports: 1433, 34000, 34010 udp
to the ip of my host (i think that using VMware player at NAT will make the same ip for the host and the virtual machine)

Re: Virtual Machine (VM Ware) to host a server
but i would have to put a no-ip adress to make it static right?
and what i did until now is correct?
Also, the problem comes when using the ip for port forwarding. I run the server in a virtual machine in a linux host. When I look for my local ip in my linux host it says it is 192.168.1.39 but when i search for it in my virtual machine it says something like 179.xxx.xx.xx so what ip should I open ports for?
Thanks
