    Re: Wind tree Animation problem

what do you mean by re-designing all the tree ? did you just simple re-textured them? or made a new ones in a 3dsmax?...

anyway correctly if i am right... warz trees never have been actualy animated...

If you want trees to be... dunno moving like the wind blows at them etc.. you have to import the tree you want to have animation.. rig the tree... and animate it ;s no other way pal

    still
still... if you want trees to be animated, you have to rig them and animate them in 3dsmax ;s no other way mate...

    - - - Updated - - -

if thats the thing you want to get..

i suggest you to go and watch some kind of 3dsmax beginer guides and "how to rig models" type of videos...

other way i don't think you gonna get a stuff you want

there are no tree animation files, you have to make them yourself

Actually if you look into infestation there are some trees that can be configured to move with a wind effect just look into how those were done i believe its tropical trees from cali.

    maybe..

could be that i am missing something in my studio, since the only animated objects i got there are the wind-turbines from cali, which were actualy animated

hmm interesting .. I have original coded files
if and they work..just because it is encrypted so I can not change the materials

    Re: Wind tree Animation problem

Right, we found out actually if you make any new models etc. or new materials you cant put wind on for some reason, there must a be a list somewhere or something like that for those objects. But only if u replace the textures in the original mats it works.

    Re: [Help] Wind tree Animation

XD this old speedtree method don't use any animate file, this system is controlled by the engine.. why you think you need the Collections system to animate the trees, leaf, dissipation speed etc

It's not speedtree. These are just models. Speedtree was never implemented in ISS.

    EDIT:
    Correction for those who're stupid:
By ISS I mean Infestation. YES It was implemented in Aftermath and all later "Eternity" versions. But before aftermath it was just simple mesh deformation.

    ofcourse
but it is not SpeedTree , these are just models that are connected by vertex paint on 3ds max.

    Re: [Help] Wind tree Animation

Most of gameengines using vertex bend or vertex displacement for leaf/bark animation.
Eclipse engine using this technique too.
Most of engine you can do this in shader, because you have acces to vertex buffer, before they rendered.

Eclipse engine uses vertex color for this.
So if mesh have vertex color, engine will modify the vertex positions before they passed to the render :)

    And thats how tree moves..
