Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
So JAVA 8 is better then JAVA 7, but racing to newest JAVA is so bad tone.
I smell what JAVA 8 needed to RUN server, is this really needed for work, are U use some language constructions & possibilities from JAVA 8, or U do it because it’s cool?
P.S. Sorry 4 my bed Inglish

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
2nd part of Marlezon's ballet - new JDK/JRE of JAVA 8 works only with Windows Vista and higher, so me and other people users of Windows XP/Windows Server 2003 and older cant make compile becouse Microsoft an biggest vendors now unsupport windows XP.
So how about use JAVA 7, or me and others on Windows XP is retrograds and no needs test this emulator?
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
Why don't you just change Java version in correspondings pom.xml and stop crying ?
Actually the emulator don't use java 8 possibilities, but will soon.
Angelis.
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
So:
- download from SVN build 105
- edit pom.xml files
- try compile
- catch error:
Quote:
.\TeraGame\src\main\java\com\angelis\tera\game\services\DialogService.java:[84,115] error: cannot find symbol
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
That's not related to Java 7 you know ?
It's a compile error maybe related to the last commit. It's not hard to resolve.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
Hi,
Jenova project has moved to closed source now. Why moved to closed source ? The reason is because many people here are just there for leech our source and no one wanna help or contribute except some 3 people. Then if someone wanna get our source you must to apply as developper on our forum. Right now we are Seeking real developpers who know Java / C# / Xml / Reverse engineering really well. I warned you for this move. So if you are just someone who just know a little bit on that skill we wont add you. We will talk to you on TS3 and check your skills. Maybe and maybe when everything is done we will release a release pack where everything is build and you only have to run the server and edit xml / config.
if you think that you have enough knowledges about Tera Emulator, feel free to apply on our forum.
Hope i'll see you soon in team. and sorry for my bad english.
Cordially,

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
Hey, I can perfectly understand your (as dev team) reasons so I will not complain. I have two questions now.
1. Do you wish that I delete this Git repository? I was updating it from time to time to newer SVN revisions but it is now slightly outdated.
2. If you have no problem with me keeping that Git repository open then, if I can get hold on newer revision (preferably 116 as it was latests one) will it be a problem to share it on this repository? Keep in mind that I will delete this repository in future if you will want that. I'll respect your decision.
I would like to get response from @Angelis86 as he is the main developer.
If you will want me to delete this repository, then I will do it when I get home (after 6pm CEST).
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
@devcod
Yes you can keep the git. If you give me access i will update the repository sometimes.
Sorry for this decision.
As we don't have something really working, this should not be a problem :).

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
Angelis86, so U close sources, but will U publicate compiled version or anyone must forget about this wish?
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
Yeah all time when peoples make little bit they just make his project private.
What bad that peoples leech ur files? If not leechers I was never saw ur project.
Im java programmer, but I don't wanna be in idiot team.
Even when u finish nobody need ur project, coz tera is f2p.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
@Dima Slevin Who ask you anything ? You feel hurt ? it's doesn't mind and it's doesn't mind if you are a java programmer . This is our choice oK? if you would an good emulator you would did it.
You said nobody need our project, why your there then ? why some people here are very interisted about our project ?
If you just here for make some troubles, go wipe your crying away and stop talking like a witch.

Btw dude, people don't want emulator because the game is f2p or not. They want it because they can do things you can't on retail. Like changing rate, making some events ...

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
I'm very dissapointed about changing into closed project :(
I don;t think so people are leaking code, they are want just to test and play on their own servers :P
Before it was closed i just played on LAN with my sis, i love exploring, searching glitches and i was so excited about new revisions...
Is there any way to just upload new compiled revisions ?
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
@IDLH
Like a said before, i will publish compiled sources (even if you can decompile it easily ...)
But you will have to wait, because actually i've got some missing opcodes (some things are broken)
Angelis.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
It is nice that you got pretty far with this client the only thing is we won't be having new stuff that has been released recently right?
We would have to program the new dungeons and stuff ourselves?

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
@famasown64
No. In fact some old stuff aren't working too (like inventory, groups ...). New stuffs will not work too for now.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
Here is my latest file servers.
This package does not include the launcher because it's not complete right now, but it include a fresh new loginserver used to get the serverlist from the database (http://127.0.0.1/servers.en, http://127.0.0.1/servers.fr, http://127.0.0.1/servers.de, http://127.0.0.1/servers.es). You'll need to have at least a server in your database.
BTW i am aware that lots of things aren't working right now. I need to get all the missings opcodes and that is a huge work.
Here is the link to the package :
https://mega.co.nz/#!bhJUAJRA!LnUexi...W_F8puthFmIQcQ
Enjoy :)

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
hello,
I tried the compiled server angelis uploaded 2 weeks ago and seems the server works fine but having problems connecting to it.
latest tera client,db created successfully,server seems to be starting up well and I edited launcher following this tutorial
-> http://forum.ragezone.com/f798/tutor...ternet-997818/
but the thing is, when i try to start the game, the splash(i don't know what it exactly is, the image that pops up before launching tera,located in TERA\Client\S1Game\Splash)pops up, screen blacks out with a tera mouse corsor on it for about 2 seconds and the client goes down.
what would possibly be causing these crashes?
I've done the exact same way I had done before the reaper patch but it doesn't work now with the latest files so I'm a bit confused.
here's my server log right after starting it.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
Hello,
After lots of request here is the last sources from the emulator. It has been a long time since i didn't opened my eclipse to work on this. So i can't remember if the emulator will work not even if this will compile.
Here is the new svn location :
https://code.google.com/p/tera-jenova/source/browse/
If someone want to continue and make a new team i will be glad !
Enjoy.
Angelis.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
I'm trying now to compile with maven 3.2.5 - in pom.xml in TeraBuilder module TeraPacket is not fully commented out, so maven can't compile (missing files). After commenting out all lines related to TeraPacket compilation starts. I'm waiting for result ;)
edit: Compilation ended with success. So I can confirm that revision 15 can be compiled.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
wow can't believe what i see

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
What version of the client is compatible? Anyone can share a link for it? Thank you

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
fyi when using eclipse m2e it cannot be compiled unless there is a maven-compiler-plugin reference in all projects (except TeraBuilder) not just in TeraCommon
compiling from console outside of eclipse works but...
Code:
<build>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId>
<version>3.2</version> <!-- or 2.3.1 but not 2.5.1 which is used as default when nothing provided -->
<configuration>
<source>1.8</source>
<target>1.8</target>
</configuration>
</plugin>
...
moreover if u can use git which is much better at branching.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
well done. still many packets it does not understand but a great start.
using latest tera-eu client i managed to get into the game:
- after fixing several small bugs
- adding a server in db manually (id=1, ip=127.0.0.1, port=7811, name=ServerName, open=true, rest set to 0) <- not sure about correctness of all values yet but it worked so far.
configuration:
- set correct path to your tera-eu folder in: launcher\conf\tera.launcher.file.properties
updated sources: https://github.com/Xyrio/tera-jenova
post problems with that repository only to its github issue tracker only. not in this forum.

seems that something went wrong when making the jar packages. it cannot find com/angelis/tera/comm
on/utils/PrintUtils.class in the lib/TeraCommon-1.0.0.jar
u need to either build the jar correctly or run MainLogin.class from the correct folder which has lib/TeraCommon-1.0.0.jar or com/angelis/tera/comm
on/utils/PrintUtils.class

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
I can not start the launcher x)
NoClassDefFound -> com / angelis / tera / common / services / AbstractService
Yet I TeraCommon knowledgeable in my pom.
And I have imported the package in ConfigService
com.angelis.tera.common.services.AbstractService package;

i see u r starting the wrong bat file i think. after building with maven is successful u should start from the TeraBuilder\bin folder:
src\TeraBuilder\bin\game\start.bat
src\TeraBuilder\bin\login\start.bat
src\TeraBuilder\bin\launcher\start.bat
i postet howto build and run at https://github.com/Xyrio/tera-jenova
post problems with that repository only to its github issue tracker only. not in this forum.
Quote:
howto build:
download and install java jdk 8
download and install maven
add java bin folder to path
add maven bin folder to path
run TeraBuilder\build.bat from within TeraBuilder
needed binaries are copied to TeraBuilder\bin
howto run (first time):
download and install latest tera-eu
download and install java jre 8
download and install mysql or any other database (not needed if you plan to use sqlite whitch is slow!)
set correct path to your tera-eu folder in launcher\conf\tera.launcher.file.properties
create the database if necessary (mysql -uroot <enter> create database tera; <enter>)
set databse connection url in game\conf\hibernate.cfg.xml (by default mysql)
run TeraBuilder\bin\game\start.bat (automatically creates database schema if it does not exist)
manually add a server to database table tera.servers (id=1, ip=127.0.0.1, port=7811, name=ServerName, rest set to 0)
run TeraBuilder\bin\login\start.bat
run TeraBuilder\bin\launcher\start.bat
by default non existing logins are created automatically.

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
maxum, Your login.bat closes after execution
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
there is no login.bat there is only start.bat in TeraLogin\ and TeraBuilder\login\
everything runs fine.
u can run the bat in a manually opened console window so you can see why it suddenly closes. probably some exception for u.
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
Yes, when I run start.bat of LoginServer.
No error ....
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
well witch one do u run? the one in in TeraLogin\ or in TeraBuilder\login\ ?
the one in TeraLogin does not work because it is just stored there to be copied when building source.
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
The one in TeraBuilder\bin\login
He told me that everything is running.
He also told me that the server started in 0 seconds.
But the window closes at the end.
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
if u r referring to what u posted here: http://forum.ragezone.com/f798/tutor...3/#post8295773
yea thats a weird one. do u use java8? windows7? 64bit? maybe try a newer version.
i have java8u20,win7,64bit and it works.
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
If I run the cmd, no problem.
But suddenly, the server is not started.
Windows 7
64 BITS
Jdk1.8.0_25

I commented code MainLogin.java: At launch, the window closes.
I tried compiled with jdk8_20
I compile with Eclipse

Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
@muxum Why did you created a git repo ? Everything works well will svn.
Angelis.
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
git is much better at branching makes working way easier. i wonder why u dont use git though. if u intend to accept changes by other it would be much easier to merge with git from other repositories. svns central design is kinda bad for distributed projects.
also i wanted to make my changes to the source available. using github that is very easy.
-
Re: [Release] Tera on java last client rev
I've tryed github 2 times. I've got lot of trouble with it. I got some trouble with svn too but i can easily repair something on svn that i can't on git.
BTW you can create patch with svn. It's not that hard to merde with my repo.
If you are going to add some new features on your repo i will ask you to create another thread for bug reporting.
Thanks.
Angelis.

there r not any major difference right now. but of course i added a notice to make it clear to ppl. here im trying to help with your svn repo.
for mine i prefer there is the github issue tracker. btw your googlecode issue tracker has 1 issue added by someone.
what problem did u have with git? i have not come accross anything that was not fixable. im using tortoisegit as frontend. the vanilla gui is barely ok.
ps:
im working on a parsed packet viewer inspired by 010 editor (although way less advanced scripting). i saw u started a simpler packet viewer too. mine uses a json markup language to parse packets and show them in a javafx tree table view. maybe it is some use to you. i copied names from your packets out of rev 61 and deep parsed 2 packets, like you do, so far for testing purposes, with more to come (see tera.bpml.json). it is still in alpha stage though.

I think to realise full pve world of tera take is too much time. How u think about first realise pvp content?
I think it much easy. Ofcourse need all skills id, and aslo need make they mechnic.

the communication between server/client (packets) has to be understood well enough for anything to happen. this is tedious work when u dont have a documentation of it. having a nice tool to look at packets and find errors helps very much especially when packets change with later versions.
pvp = mechanic + skills + items + armors + weapons + party? ... not as little as it seems :)
