Any tools for open files .dat
Tera Datacenter (EUR, FRA , GER, USA)
can any one help me with this "can't find SSNL" issue? i am using on-tera client and tera shock client, and always give this issue when click login, using the new launcher.
@cintapw when you put the launcher url "http//127.0.0.1/server/serverlist.en" in your browser, can you see this page correctly? If is it correctly, in your serverlist.en do you have the same port as server.xml?

yes the webpage is correct and i can register an account, the port is correct, i use 14752 port for serverlist.en and server.xml
btw i test on multiplayer server on other computer, my web address like http://my wan ip/tera/server/serverlist.en
and i generate the launcher with the same address point to serverlist.en
i think i doing step by step correctly following the tutorial for multiplayer on the first post.
but still got "can't find SSNL" issue, do any one know what is wrong? plz help.
The "Cant' find SSNL" error appear when the launcher cant connect to the serverlist. So, something in the URL is wrong.
Test your URL to serverlist.en, if its works and still that error appear, change the folder to server/serverlist.en. Not tera/server/serverlist.en or web/server/serverlist.en. Just directly, YOUR.WAN.IP/server/serverlist.en
So I've figured out the issue with the Can't find SSNL error, at least for me and I think the issue lies in the generator. I can access my serverlist.en using my WAN IP but I discovered using wireshark that after generating the tera.exe with the generator when I opened it, it would send packets to a hosting service in the Netherlands, which I presume was where the original tera shock server lived. Can anyone confirm this? Do we have access to the generator code?
EDIT: So, I don't think it was trying to hit any old server. After trying to repeat the wireshark experiment I did not get the same results. I did however find that I can't see ANY network traffic from the tera.exe. I had multiplayer working just yesterday but today nothing works at all. I can't even use the single player bat anymore. I just get the SSNL error over and over again. I've tested my serverlist a million times; I can hit it locally, I can hit it from WAN IP (my players can to), I even put out on my actual webserver; regenerating the tera.exe every time. SSNL, SSNL, SSNL. I don't know what could have possibly changed since yesterday to cause this to happen.
EDIT2: So yesterday after we got done playing I realized I could change the server name by modifying the serverlist.en file. Doing this caused SSNL error. To fix it I reverted my serverlist.en, flushed my db, and restarted my computer. After that I was able to connect as normal. However, I would bet that if the servicelist.en has your modified name in it the first time the server starts up and is connected to that it wouldn't cause any problems but I haven't tested this yet.

Anyone know why the server wont open for me? it tries to launch the batch file but closes before i can see anything.
@Joey Pagano: Open the bat from the cmd prompt and it won't disappear after failing. There might be some output to help you figure out what's wrong.

this is what i get when i try to open the .bat file from within CMD
thought i should mention that im running this on a dedicated server running windows server 2012.
Looks like you either don't have java installed on your machine or it's not in your system path.
See here: How do I add Java to my Windows PATH? | King Luddite
solved my own problem, i did not have Java installed, so incase anyone runs into this problem, make sure u have Java installed (go to C:\Program Files\Java or C:\Program Files(86)\Java if you have a 32bit operating system) if that folder does no exist, then you do not have it installed, google "how to install Java on windows" and then try to run the server.
If that still fails, follow this guide:
Spoiler:
Ok, so i found the solution to my SSNL error, and i'm willing to bet this is most everyone elses problem! I missed it and im sure you are all too. The problem is that your serverlist.en is still in the TEXT DOCUMENT format, although its still called serverlist.en.
To fix this,
open serverlist.en in notepad
Go to File > Save as...
Make the name "serverlist.en"
and change "Save as type" to: All Files
now save it, and your client should find it just fine... i'll add an example of what i mean below.

i far away frmo trolling (or not?) but if some1 cannot choose beetwen TXT and any other extension in save window what are u looking for in developement forum, even if need to work on source....
