I dont remember anyone without the "sword" (deathgod) getting a bankai. And having more experience then ichigo would help him get it faster. If I do remember right renji got Pwned by that one guy (forgot name, one that related to the girl who lost her powers to ichigo). And ichigo didnt use his hollow power till after he was beating up on him. So ichigo was able to last alot longer and make a better sence then renji.
