well long animes have to be repetitive, no?
You gotta look at examples like Naruto. They had to ditch the old Naruto and turn it into Naruto Shipoopoo since the filler was annoying everyone so much :$:
And then you look at animes like One Piece, which the first 10 minutes of the anime is the intro + a recap of the episode you JUST saw. Then the last 3 minutes is the ending theme song + previews for the next episode. You're left with 7 minutes, of which 3 minutes is wasted by people repeating the same stuff over and over again or making noises...And the latest Sanji dying of a nose bleed stuff was absolute trash
Fairytail use to be a bit better at being not-so-repetitive, but like you guys said, it's a longrunning anime now so..*psyduck/sigh duck*.
Animes that actually let themselves finish are a pretty nice change to the long running animes out there :thumbup1:
For the repetitive, on-going ones, the best thing to do is make sure your at least 20 episodes behind, then watch them all while fast forwarding through the useless parts
The same could be said about nearly every slice of life or romance anime/manga yet they're hugely popular.
Well they more than likely decided to rename it Naruto Shipetc because it was a 'new' beginning, after the timeskip and whatnot, the quality of the show after the skip is another discussion though :ott1:
That's Shounen animes in general, you're forgetting that these shows are aimed at kids who enjoy the silly humour & don't find recaps boring. The recaps in One Piece aren't that long either, I'd say you lose about 5 minutes at most with both songs + episode recap.
I dunno why people fast forward through shows tbh, if you truly don't like the style why not just read the manga instead? Though it seems like you're basing these animes on a per-episode basis, kinda silly when the series are running at 500+ episodes.
Slice of life is different its supposed to be life based and everything is usually repetitive in life.
Also yes because an anime doesn't need 500 episodes. Who wants to watch 200 episodes and 300 fillers/non story related episodes? Probably not a lot of people. I've seen perfectly great animes just as good as these huge ones and they are Max 24 episodes.

Just my opinion man.
I grew up with anime, been watching it since I was 7 or so years old and I know even as a kid I hated fillers/run-off episodes. Also manga =/= anime. Manga has a certain originality anime lacks while anime has the sort of magic/uniqueness a manga lacks.
I always tend to skip fillers and Naruto gets really boring with them. However Fairy Tail has gotten pretty epic makes me wanna watch every week.
pretty much the only anime I watch these days, most anime from the last few years are quite boring imo.
Fairytail's pro.
" Nothing found for category fairy blablablabla" LOL . . xD
