I kno Steely did a thread a while a go for top 10 songs and stuff but I don't think there's been one done for favourite Artist. So basically 2 categories, 'Favourite Artist/Band' and 'Favourite Artist/Band at the moment' with explanations.
Favourite band: Ash - first rock music band I ever listened to ages ago and I loved them, still do.
Favourite Band at the moment: Bloc Party - Can't get enough of them and their album at the moment.
Coldplay - reason hmmm.....erm......Im a love sick kind of guy i guess there songs just tug the right strings for me, love all 3 of there albums
Coldplay - just have to take a look at my audioscrobbler account to see how much i bum these guys all over, im just in love with the new album
just popped on james blunts album ive heard good things
Blind Guardian - first metal band i listened to, love what they talk about, and how they do it
Deicide - hardcore band, the best to headbang to and just let yourself free
tbh this should be in the music section...
Favourite Band: Alexisonfire - Just love em... their lyrics, the fact that they're Canadian...
Favourite Band ATM: Story of the Year - my sister picked up a book of guitar tabs for me and I downloaded all of the songs that were in it... 'Until the Day I Die' was my favourite.
Favourite band: Masterplan - No idea, someone sent me one of their songs and I just fell in love with them.
Favourite band at the moment: Gorillaz - I just love their new album and cannot seem to stop listening to it.

Dimmu Borgir - Brutal, Symphonic, Brilliant.
Bathory - Without them, no Folk/Viking Metal, and they were one of the frontiers of the black metal craze, Call From The Grave is an amazing album.
Ensiferum - Best Folk/Viking Metal Band to ever walk the planet.
Enforsaken - Melodic Death Metal with a hint of Iron Maiden.
Vital Remains - Just all out Death Metal!!!
Hell Within - Combines Hardcore with Death Metal to make Deathcore, listen to em and youll see what i am talking about ;)

overall though, In Flames, their CDs except for Soundtrack To Your Escape wear out the battery of my mp3 player daily.

artist, damien rice, he kicks ass too, and hes irish, irish kik ass too

i must agree Lamb of God is awesome.

well.....all time favorite would probably have to be..... eh... probably "children of bodom" Everything i have heard from them i completely like and its got good feel to it.
But at the moment my favorite would be "Opeth." I cant believe i never got into them before. Beautiful guitar work and everything. I just dont really dig the vocals =/. Check out some songs from the cd "morningrise"
