Christian rock blows. Sorry for being an asshole but, what the fuck do I need saving from? My low self esteem? Please, I have too much to live for to be worrying about what's going to happen to me when I die. God damn emo kids...they go hand in hand with Jesus freaks.

    >.> I am not an emo kid. I don't dress in black, i don't wallow in pity..well sometimes when things do get out of hand i like to treat myself to ice cream and think about how better off i would be without some people in my life that are PERMANTELY there. So fuck you, because you do not know me.

I hate Christianity, and just because their a christian band doesnt fucking mean they talk about christ all the fucking time in their god damn songs.

To the first, they don't have to mention Christianity to be a christian band.

To the second, read what you just wrote, "think about how I would be better off without some people in my life" don't dwell to much on that Mr. Semi-Emo. It's creepy enough that you eat ice-cream and think about people dying. And you don't have to dress in black to be emo, their not goths, even though they try so hard to fit in with that crowd.

And to the third, I didn't say they mentioned Christ in all their songs. And calm down on the swearing. Just because you have a keyboard doesn't mean you have to type obscenities every two words.

Edit: I'm keeping this thread open. Don't close it again Grasna.

Why so we can start a awesome opinion thread, also i can close it if i want to. Its MY thread and if i see the reason to, ill close it. Are you going to ban me because we had a disagreement about a band?
I like the band, i wanted to share it.
You dont like it then fine. This isnt a debate topic, and you of all people should know this.

The reason you want to close it is because little ol me started to make fun of you and it offended you. Don't be a child about this and close the thread because you didn't get the positive response you wanted. And if you close the thread I'll infract you, not ban. For going against a moderator's decision. And yes, I do want people to share their opinion on this band. I'm also not debating. You took offense to a statement I made and said "fuck you, you don't know me" when I haven't insulted you in any way prior. So you are lucky I don't infract you on the spot and you can thank DaCheat for that.

The thread will remain open. Period.

I hate to say it Ryan, but I believe you're in the wrong here. Users were given a right to close their thread for a reason. The fact that you think the thread should remain open is irrelevant. It is not your decision to make, only the maker of the thread.

    Must I smack you? =p

Actually no. I knew there would be negative responses but i did not know that you would all of a sudden start implying that im a emo kid. So yes you DID insult me and if you were actually going to infract me for such a thing then you really need to open your eyes because people are saying far worse things.

    Dont mention Christianity?!?
    Okay let's get this striaght.

    1. They DO mention Christianity in all thier songs.
    2. What good is a Christian band if thier songs aren't about Christianity.

The first song is about needing a hero. Just like we all do. We all are going to die and spend eternity in hell. But we dont have to. We need a hero and one came to rescue us. Jesus died on the cross so that you dont have to go to hell.

The second song is about feeling like a monster.
    The secret side of me
    I never let you see
I keep it caged, but I can't control it, so stay away from me, the beast
Is ugly, I feel the rage, and I just can't hold it
That is talking about his and everyones hidden sins. Everybody, Christian or not, is a sinner. Whether they're open about it or sin in "private" they still do it. So hes saying that his hidden sin is making him feel like a monster because he's a Christian, but his sinful desires are taking him over.

Actually no I didn't. Please reference any place where I insult you directly. Please. All I said was, "God damn emo kids...they go hand in hand with Jesus freaks."

Where in that comment did I say, "Grasna is an emo kid." I was referring to the band in all honesty. It was YOU who took offense and thought I was talking about you.

Edit: Back to the topic. The only Christian band I'll listen to is Creed. Just because they were one of the first bands I discovered on my own back when I was a wee lil munchkin.

Eh I never got into Creed that much when I found out how much of a Douche the old lead singer was in person.
Anyways Skillet has been around for a long while, if you are looking for similar sounding artist I would suggest checking out Red - Already Over. The lead singer has some decent vocal range and the song's by them aren't half bad.

Yeah this is what I think of Creed.

Everyone has their guilty pleasures, no need to start insulting people over it. Everyone needs to calm down, or I'll hulk out and do some major clean up work. And nobody likes it when DaCheat gets angry...

i saw skillet in concert and they were awesome. if you really listen to the lyrics, you could get interested in the real meaning of knowing christ. im not gonna preach on a forum but you'll all regret not following our maker. if you don't believe in jesus christ or god, what do you believe in? how do you explain the world and everything that happens and has happened.

---------- Post added at 06:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:07 PM ----------

if you like skillet but like a little harder rock, try Red. its a christian band but they can rock!

I'm sorry to a lot of you guys, but I'm not the type to judge music/genre/bands by their religion. And in my opinion, I thought that Skillet was really good. I've known them for a long time already, and to be honest, their songs are pretty good. I also like their song Comatose. When I went to Harvest Crusade yesterday, they weren't so bad either on live.
But like Zendi said, I'm not going to get so religious.
And Iron, Emo is a type of music. Emo does not mean emotional.

It was meant to be a type of music.
But it has come to mean a style of dressing and acting.
    "Emotional"...

Skillet's a great band. Dont judge them just because their Christian.
They make good music. The Christian part is a an added bonus :D

All I can do is look at you and laugh over the interwebz then tell you about it by posting it on this forums. You are the definition of the hypocritical lunacy that plagues these forums. Shut up and get out of this section.
