I hope it will have 3 seasons like Aang series.

its not naruto.
How about looking up the definition. The setting of the plot does not make it Japanese.Nor is it even a "style". Anime doesn't have a defined art style. This is no way shape or form anime. It's just a cartoon with an Asian setting.Code:a·nime/ˈanəˌmā/
Noun:
Japanese movie and television animation, often having a science fiction theme and sometimes including violent or explicitly sexual material.
Also they did mention what happened to all the main characters from The Avatar. If you didn't catch it, you're either slow or didn't watch the pass 2 episodes.
I watched them.
Also
Anime is short for animation,
Code:Anime Definition:
Anime - The word used in Japan for animation.
Therefore Avatar is a animation short term anime.Code:Otaku Definition:
Otaku - Japanese word meaning obsessive fan of anything.Somewhat derogatory meaning that you put your interest above all else. Westerners tend to use it without the derogatory connotations. Rather, an otaku is someone who is a dedicated fan of anime and/or manga.
/EDIT
After some research it is in fact different forms of anime, regarding to each country.
So Avatar does in fact fit in Otaku
FYI, the term "anime" is also often considered valid when referring to a style of drawing and/or animation, just like the term "cartoon" is.
Pretty sure you made up that definition. Webster says otherwise.
Anime - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary
Code:a style of animation originating in Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action-filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes
I'll be more pron to believe Webster over what ever definition you just coughed up.
This or The Avatar is not anime.
According to the website where it's uploaded, it's in CARTOON not ANIME section.
Words from Wikipedia. Since Korra show isn't as developed as The last airbender it's from airbender one. Still applies to Korra season.
Quote:
The show combined the styles of anime and American cartoons, and relied for imagery upon various East-Asian, Inuit, and South-American societies, with a brief reference to the Indic.
Quote:
The series' character designs are heavily influenced by anime as well as Chinese art and history, Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism,[34] and Yoga.
Category:Anime-influenced animation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Note you can see both Avatars in there.Quote:
Our love for Japanese anime, Hong Kong action and kung fu cinema, yoga, and Eastern philosophies led us to the initial inspiration for Avatar: The Last Airbender."[37] The show's character designs are influenced by anime; but the show is not considered an example of such.
To make it simple, it's just anime influenced not fully anime.
Read that ... i found lots of things that i didn't know.

Have you noticed that Japanese make good anime but bad movies and EU/US(mostly US) makes good movies but bad anime.
What is the difference between cartoons and animes?
-The plot: the plot in animes are better and deeper.
-The character design: Animes characters look more like real humans, but cartoons characters are made to induce laughter.
-The public that they are made for: Cartoons are made PG-13 , most of animes(the good ones) are R, R+ rated.
-The script: In animes the character dialogue inflicts more emotion than the action itself , cartoon are opposite of that(the actions are more important then the dialogue)
So: Animes takes a more mature way of doing things.
P.S. Anime is not a proper english word (as you can see the dictionary does not recognize "anime" ) , and many people (mostly US) do not know how to pronounce the word and when they watch Naruto they will call it "cartoon", because basically animes are still cartoons.
At the people that are talking the meaning of anime. The meaning in English is different from the meaning in Japanese.
Japanese: literally means Cartoon or Animation.
English: Asian Cartoons or Asian Animation.
The same goes for manga:
Japanese: Graphical Novel
English: Asian Graphical Novel
and the same also goes for Otaku:
Japanese: Nerd
English: a fan of Japanese Culture or Manga and/or Anime fan.
As for this series, I'm not sure if I'm going to watch it.
As for this series it's made in US, but anime inspired. So it can go both ways it can be here, because it's anime inspired and it can't be here because it's not really an anime.
If I were to moderate this section I would leave it here, due to it being anime inspired.
But things like Spiderman I would move out of here.

If yer gonna post images to back up your point at least be fair... I've seen many american cartoons with deeper stories then some "Japanese" Anime and as I mentioned earlier alot of the "Japanese" anime is actually done in Korea because the anime studios can get the work done cheaper there.
There is a style to "Anime" vs Cartoons and at this point that is the only thing that matters... if you start caring where things come from originally then you will need to look into where it's actually coming from rather then where the company is based... A US company outsourcing labor to China doesn't say their products are "Made in America" and the same should go for Anime if it's really that important where the show comes from
Avatar had a deeper story then ALOT of "Japanese Anime" Legend of Korra Will probably be as good it's already started off well and I for one can see how it's in a Japanese style of drawing... To me that's enough to call it Anime(A japanese person would call it the same btw)
