Music Theory = Good Music

Ok so I've always said you can tell when an artist knows his or her theory around music, because it just sounds better. Amongst other things, but most people dont have a clue what I'm talking about so I'll just leave it at that...

Well I found some nice proof of that, and it just so happens to come from Pink Floyd. This song is Pink Floyd's guitar solo called Confortably Numb. The guitar solo of this song is so perfect that even if you play two copies 15 seconds apart they sync up and compliment each other creating something worth listening to.

I understand what you are trying to say, Pink Floyd are class, and Confortably numb is one of the best song from them.Its really a pleasure listening to that sounds, not many bands out there like Pink Floyd. And its really incredible how two parts fit in one.

A friend of mine went to an opeth concert two years ago, and he told me none of opeth's members has any music theory knowledge (as he took music theory twice). He said they said that on stage xD.
I really wish I took theory.

I first took it in High School. It was just the basic stuff, but it helped me out a tun in college. College theory was 4 years of hell basically, but it was well worth it. You don't really need to go to a "special" school for theory, just a school that has a pretty good music program. If they have a good program then they'll have good professors, and they'd hopefully have their PhD's.

No man, seriously... Thing is, we don't get such stuff at ordinary schools, you gotta go to the conservatory for that (that's what I meant by 'special school', just could find the right word then), and going to study music in the conservatory cost a lot of money here, so... It's little bit of a problem for me :P
