No I don't think they've tricked him. From the way he disappeared after Sasuke says, 'Are you ready?' I think it's planned. Besides Madara wants to use Sasuke in order to sync with Gedō Mazo, but can't do it yet because he can't manipulate Sasuke as easy as Pain. I know he's already tricked him several times already, for reasons which are unknown (Convincing him that he didn't use the kyuubi to attack Konoha). Akatsuki weren't gathering the tailed beasts for the purpose of war, I know Pain said they planned on using it as a weapon, but Madara said something about using it to revive his Sharingans power (I think?).
I really want a year to go past so I can read moe about all this, it's gotten really interesting lately. Especially to find out the connectons between Danzo and Tobi.
