just to shed some light into your daily life, there is actually a site which offers high quality streaming divx with compatibility towards the newest coded as far as i know.
it is called vreel and many sites do host their anime there (well the ones that do give a crap for quality and dun have a sh1tload of bandwidth + speed.
They are currently upgrading the site but will be available from 1st as far as i know again. look forward to it.

personally speaking i prefer to steam, BUT! sometimes , i download the movies/series i want to archive to see them at a future time.The reason is that maybe the site which hosts the series goes down/ video gets deleted/your coutry is banned from the site( like veoh, i cant watch videos from there anymore) etc.
why would i have 24mb internet and a nice big hd monitor to watch a crappy stream...?

Depends if I feel like waiting for a high quality download to finish, or if I feel like watching it in low quality whenever I want.
Download = Higher quality but waiting
Steam = Low quaitly but instant watching
im pretty sure people want quality cause streaming sucks:blink:and really it mostly depends on the person if you cant wait 5min download a episode or if you just want to see wut happends and dont care about quality

I usually prefer streaming also. I only download if that anime is not available as stream or quality sucks. Only anime I ever downloaded was Death note, because I wanted to watch it again with my friend and I really liked it, which made it worth downloading. I can also give several reasons why streaming > downloading:
You don't need any players/codecs etc, it is a lot faster if you only wanna see if anime is worth of watching, it's easier to find and you don't have to track for peers if you are trying to find some old & good animes. (I had to) So, I prefer streaming 110%.

Huh. I never said that I don't know where to get codecs. I prefer VLC player myself, if I watch downloaded anime/.avi/.whatever. I said that some people may not know how to or are too lazy to get them. And talking about torrents, I didn't mean every Bleach episode which 522262 teenagers from all over the world watch, I meant some good & old animes that are not seeded, or are not famous. And, I rather use my 1.5mb/second to stream than to find torrent and download. My reasons only suck, if you don't get the point of them. :c
I download. So I can rewatch it one day, and it will fit my screen, unlike when streaming it leaves boxes on the sides.
