Doubt thats his real voice. It sounds like he almost loses his voice in a few parts of the song. He probably just practiced making his voice deeper like that a lot. No doubt he has talent, he just misuses it.
I don't get it why people shout out how much they hate this song. Sure it's really speciall but I find it interesting. He does something strange and I find it amusing instead of awful :P

i dunno bout u guys but i like that song, sept he says chocolate rain way to much, like after every word kinda gets annoying after a bit
