Hm wth I live in denmark and havent heard about it =o
omfg! that shit was spinning fast! very fast!
That's ridiculous! But what caused it? The 3th video doesn't really show the cause of it (unless that's a tree what got hit, but then again I don't see them on the 1st video).
*/confused*
Really hope so, cause we got a few of them around here were I live and I'd really hate it to see them go all crazy and go boom-boom ;o
Googled some and came up with a thread that basically summed it all up;
This is definitely not fake, and that is a textbook example of turbine structural failure due to overspeed. That speed is far outside the design parameters, and the forces on the structure far beyond the design as well. Asking it to be able to survive that is like asking for your car to not be crushed when you crash it into a wall at 60 mph.
lol.
They said something similar in the news the other day when it happened...
The blade fell apart while spinning because the gear broke in it. Which then caused it to decapitate in mid-air and start falling apart. It then hit the neck of the Turbine and then collided with everything and broken off which then broke the neck and then fell.
High winds caused it.
Omg xtreme wind O.o
These things get loaded up w/ energy then explode? Lol.
Never heard of it..
Rofl..Rage.
That was awesome!
High wind did not cause this.. It happened a few weeks ago. I live in Denmark.
The brakes failed, so it just kept accelerating. It's extremely uncommon for the brakes to fail, and if you live more than 50meters from the windmill, you're safe.
So the reason the thing decapitated in mid-air as shown on the 3rd slow motion video was because it didn't have its breaks lol. I don't think so, i think the reason it was spinning so fast was because it breaks failed.
As entertaining as it is, I pity those who have to pay for it.
