Aaron signed his settlement and they're still complaining that he hasn't gone through with his settlement because he hasn't got any information on the purchases of Phoenix Licence Holders. They wanted licencees personal details which were never kept and any information he did have was lost in a corrupt database.

Either way, you should shut down your services and keep in contact with them via email before signing away your life.

Also there's nothing Sulake can do against the owner of the domain, as long as they haven't got proof that the domain owner is also the owner of the servers.

The domain owner has done nothing illegal.
Right now I am hiring someone to have his name as the domain admin-c/tech-c/billing-c making them unable to reach me in any kind of way to send a Cease & Desist (or dmca/copyright infrigment notice). They can mail me one for sure but they dont know your real name so they really can't.

I've had previous problems regarding this and learned from my mistakes. I developed for scandinavias biggest torrentingcommunity and the police was hunting me, not sulake.
(The police eventually raided my host and stole my server but with backups I were able to get back up in a matter of hours.)
Till this day they are still chasin' me and haven't been able to get in touch with me in any kind of way.
They have arrested some administrators on the site several times but they have been able to get out with small fines payed by us.

Now the site collaborates with thepiratebay and everything is running smooth, all staffs using vpn's n shit.

TL;DR Ignore people talking about how you shouldn't start a retro or get out of the retro community because sulake is hunting you down etc etc; you can protect yourself from sulake very easily. Do as I wrote or something like it, sit back, laugh at sulake trying to hunt you down. If some badass kid that personally knows you would help sulake or report you or anything, nothing leads back to you anyway and you can just ignore them and walk as free as morgan freeman in the end of The Shawshank Redemption.

I hope sulake is reading this and realises how weak they actually are :thefinger:

Sulake with their c&d's, dmca's and copy infrigs. is darn easy to not get caught by.
The law is pretty easy to abide. You just have to do it right.
By this I mean internet shit, not bank robberys and other serious criminal acts.

Also don't get my posts wrong.
I do not encourage anyone to commit a crime, I just point out that it is possible.

I'm happily closing my retro, however I'll be talking to lawyers before I sign. I've actually asked for a modified version of it to suit what I want. They do want my retro closed, right?

So there is another way to find him. Mediafire happily gives out details about people so.

Whenever Sulake close a retro all the users will move to another retro. And the time they use to send out C&D, get it signed and returned there is 100 new retros(worldwide).

So I think they need a better strategy.

Start with the big hotels, work your down. They'll catch up with everyone eventually, just a matter of time.
