Habbo retro 2015 - 2016. A Real Risk?
Hello to abbord . I have a little retro , which is limited to 70 simultaneously connected and NOT SHOP , I do not want to make money behind the back of Sulake . My question is, is exposed even tone to a real risk to Sulake in 2015 - 2016 , with this I mean prosecution and penalties , such as fines of 300,000 euros has had, the owner of Otaku . Thank you in advance for your answers , it will not only help me but those who read the topic. Sorry for my language, I am French .
I have yet to see any retros who get sued or even any actual confrontation from Sulake besides a little email occasionally. The only time Sulake actually pursued anything regarding legal actions with retros was against Aaron (Phoenix dev) so you'll be okay even if you had around a thousand users you'll still be fine
Nah dont you worry. Even if you had 1k online you can just ignore the emails.
Aaron's case was different. He wasn't only sued for running a retro but also for selling Phoenix which made him a lot of money.

Oh, little do you all know about this..
I know multiple retro owners who've had legal action presented against them, including myself, yeah you can ignore them but who knows what will happen if you do.. I chose to shut down my retro due to 2 cease and desists, so did @Skeet Em Up
Though if your hotel is truly that small then don't worry.

Just be careful. Seeing as your site is french, you could block all countries aside from France and then also block sulake hostnames or IP ranges from accessing your site.
Just a couple tips anyway. If you're gonna run a retro, you've gotta be ready to face the consequences.

.htaccess for IIS and nginx.conf for nginx
You could also always block all the law firms in europe.. but I think sulake will be enough.
But if they hire lawyers (which they've done to one of my friends) you may want to block them also.
Wasn't it web.config for IIS and .htaccess for xampp?

XAMPP isn't a web server. It's a suite of preconfigured tools that aid in development. I think you ment to say: Apache.
