I think you're being a bit hypocritical making your own flash MMOCC and expecting people not to copy it but you want users to play it. That is exactly what Habbo has done.

Not exactly. Even if you changed the colors of everything, the initial designs and layouts are technically the same. Think of it this way, if I invented the TV and put a patent on it so nobody else could invent Televisions, and you took my TV and painted a dot on it, does that make it your invention and free from copyright law?Originally Posted by Lagan

I was stupid enough to suggest making your own flash games and i take it back ^^.
The outline is shutdown or we take legal action. What people don't realise in this community is DMCA and C&D are different. DMCA's can get sent around with not much action actually backing it up. Once you receive a C&D thats when you worry. As Quackster said above.
I've emailed and asked if I can post what I received. I've also had quite a interesting conversation with Sulake's laywers via email. (I wasn't gonna just shutdown without finding the legitimacy of these claims) so i'll see if I can post some of those although I doubt it as some stuff in them Sulake wouldn't want you to know. If you catch my drift.
Sulake always hiding stuff they don't want us to know about. One day it will cave in and Sulake will win the war. There is no stopping them for good, you can hold them off... But nothing will hold them back for ever. Sulake are finally realising something they should have done a long time ago.
How long does the retro world have left? My opinion, we are just adding the finishing touches to our coffin.
I really do not understand how they can say you cannot disclose what they have said to you, Do we not have a freedom of information act?
When you sign something you cannot disclose details. Either way Sulake are being nice and giving retro owners the opportunity to shutdown without a legal battle. I wouldn't want to post something they didn't want me to and get in trouble.
I mean rumours have got to me that Sulake contacted Aaron as they thought he had done something they didn't like. Just remember they are watching :)
It's not a stupid idea, just not an idea that would be easy to make successful. Don't take my earlier comments as insults towards you, I was simply pointing out that it would be difficult to make something that original and completely functional.
Well what you can als try making is a online game where people can imagine their house how they want it to be and draw it and others can come and rate over their house design and making them able to get in and what not.
Never mind another Sim thing.

I love how everyone wants to create your own game. Yet, if someone copied them, they'd expect them to pay the price.
All they have said from the start was to make your own alternative to the game and not to use their graphics. :-(. Poor Sulake <3.

Thats called habbo my friend. Pre-made furniture as not everyone can draw.
Still like it how you like to pick on people I've already told just skip it it's a stupid idea not gonna bother but anyway gonna be hard to figure out creating something that is not gonna suck.
Well when they started with Habbo they didnt know if it would suck. Only time will tell you and in the meanwhile you can think of another format.
I agree with that they where teenagers or students I've not really know story very well ill try getting that out.
Also I'm not gonna try to make own game because i know for sure that its gonna suck but anyway if i ever try then i would sure take advise from you.
