It's not about being remembered.
A few years ago I was inspired by Nillus and Meth0d. Everybody know both names (at least, on this retro section). But with what price? Does it really matter that much? Sometimes a private development is way better and more secure than a public development where everybody will later remember you like they remember Aaron AKA Sojobo these days. You really want that?
I guess, even when you are not being remembered, you can be proud of what you've done for yourself. Like for me, I do this pure to improve my skills. Let everybody forget me, I don't care. I don't care what you people think of me, because what I do is learning.
Hope I inspired y'all. Have a great day.
When I first came here there was 22kaka, Nillus, Hebbo, Nero, Snappo, shit.. I swear there was a third person in the Debbo crew and many more that are now either permanently gone or still do things here and there behind the scenes.
To be honest, I wonder if most people even remember the old VB6 source codes that a lot of folks dicked around with such as USA111. Oh yeah and then there was James with Goldenshox which he had Snowstorm (kinda) working on.
Kinda miss those times.. especially when I had Times Retro with Faris and Hebbo would help us out with his secret batches of the server.
Unless we don't release something to the community, we are never remembered, I doubt anyone will remember, after the owner of Phoenix has been sued, he is not even remembered now.. lol!
There are no devs on this forum except 2-3 people.
True enough, @n0minal
Successful stories of unsuccessful people ITT.
Us old timers remember the good users who contribute, I don't come here as often as I used to, so I can't say I notice everyone. However, I do remember plenty of people, especially if I see their releases are used or useful, I usually give them thanks.
Nothing is really ever forgotten. I've kept up with you guys for the last several years though. I log in every once in a while to check up on how far things have gone. It's been hard now that I'm older but It's great to see some familiar faces along with new ones.
