@Mextur yeah I used to privately develop stuff.
Never stop.
If you don't want people to forget you, don't leave then. I would personally like it if you stayed, but that's just my opinion. Keep developing and making your developments better and people will not forget you. You will push yourself to being remembered here forever. I remember older developers, but they are forgotten by most because as soon as Sulake cracked the whip, they decided to pack their bags and move onto "better" things. If you need to move on, then move on, but don't complain how you've been forgotten afterwards. Especially, when there's always work that can be done. *coughs* BoostCMS VIP Shop *coughs*
Anyway, good luck with whatever you do.![]()
The little developers will be remembered as the closing developers. Because, once they're gone, that'll be it to be honest. The dev in here is just slowing down very rapidly. I mean, there's still a bunch of people who post new things, but they're only little things.
On another note, as anyone else noticed the main stream of developers seem to be from the Netherlands? Think about it.. It's strange..
Must of the stuff is developed already. The stability is decent when compared with older emulators overall. I used to host a 'Bobba Server' based on USA111 back to 2008 which would freeze once it hit 120 users. The big hotels have their own developers. There is no much more left to do. Starting a new emulator from scratch is worthless, anybody got time for that. Keep updating what we got and somehow you will be remembered for that.
n0minal who?
Well, Netherlands has one of the best IT infrastructures of the world.
Also Dutch kids are really into gaming / computer stuff so they see things and think I want to do that too and then they just try and eventually develop themself to software developers
I think, not sure but yeah.
The way I read your thread is like you develop for the credit instead of developing for the fun and the learning experience. Why should you care if anyone still knows who you are? You should care about your projects, what you've learned out of them and how much fun they were for you! :) None of us will feel the joy you felt when you just fixed something that has been bothering you for a few days, none of us will feel the pride you felt when you've released something which the whole community needed, but those are the things that matter. Not whether we still know who you are or not!
