What do you guys/girls think about PvP in Maplestory?

Just feeling like starting a discussion on whether or not implementing PvP in a game like this would be a good or bad idea.

My Two Cents on the Matter:

i think it would be a bad idea due to the fact that it would get swarmed with the "Best of the Best" players (the ones with 2~2 range and best gear) which would make it unfair to other players that are unable to reach that due to time, money limitations (Mesos, NX, Coins (for buying items from various bosses), real-life money (the server may add certain items to their donator shop).

if they put in something that matches players together based on there main stat, attack and PDR (number and/or the percentage they have), using there "true" range (because 2~2 is just the visual cap), win and lose streaks (K/D) and of course the players Level (because hitting something is normally based on the the difference between a monsters and player level) that would make it a little fairer.

Even Nexon tried, at people didn't seem to like it. Neither when I joined lvl 70's with my lvl 2

I did a PvP system once, so I have some ideas :P

Balance HP/MP, and use a "law of diminishing returns" system.

For example, let base damage = sqrt(primary stat). So a difference of 300 stats to 500 stats suddenly becomes small.

Also, make a progressive multiplier such that lower-leveled characters can deal comparable damage to other characters. Multipliers for different jobs would be good too, so bossing skills like hurricane wouldn't dominate too badly.

Lastly, make sure to advertise that the PvP is very balanced. It can be totally balanced, but if players don't know that, a losing streak will tell them that their job is not up to par, and that PvP is unbalanced. It's all in the mind.

Maplestory isn't exactly made for PvP. Its stats and skills vary way too much, making PvE a better option.

It seems so hard to provide an even match for players let alone a balanced system to build around. I'm not a huge fan of PvP in general.
