[360] Halo 3 or Gears of War? [360]
Hi.
I have enough money now to buy a new game for my 360, but I am torn between buying Gears of War now, and waiting until September for Halo 3.
I am a huge fan of the Halo series, but I am told that Gears of War is like Halo on steroids, and I can't decide which one I want to play more.
What do you guys think?

I don't believe you can really compare GoW to Halo.
If you really like Halo, then i would go for Halo 3, as GoW doesn't give you the same expierence that Halo does.
Still GoW is good in it's own right, and depending on what you want in a game then GoW can be a great buy, personally GoW didn't do it for me as much as it did for others, GoW was my first game together with Test Drive Unlimited, and i did like playing it, and it's a good game, but i never like the online mode much, only 8 players in a game, pretty small maps and all. Personally i like Perfect Dark Zero much more online, more players, big maps, lots of weapons etc.
So if you do decide to get GoW, then don't expect to get a game similar to Halo, because i think they are quite different.
i would go with halo 3 even tho Gears of War is awesome too wow this is a hard one to pick

Halo is lots of fast pack action with a great story.
GoW is something completely different. It's not as fast paced and you'll be having massive firefight from behind cover.
Both are great series but if you like the the Halo multiplayer then GoW will leave you wanting more.
Personally I would go with GoW as you have the money now and it's a great game.
So then you can just save up your money and get Halo 3 a month or two latter.
So you get best of both worlds.
But also... To be honest you should take a look at RB6 Vegas. It's much better in my opinion. The best console shooter out there and great multiplayer.
Though my opinion might change once Halo 3 comes out but compared to Halo , I enjoy RB6 Vegas more. And to be honest, I never liked the older RB6 games. O.O

I agree 100% with what NoPeace said, Halo is really just a run out and shoot kind of game (As NoPeace said, a fast paced game) and Gears Of War in my opinion, is more realistic fighting with more tactics involved. More real life situations, while in Halo, It was meant to be a less realistic shooter, and more use anything you can for your advantage, IE get power weapons, double team a person, ect....
Halo 3 for sure. Gears may be good but its getting older now and Halo 3 is going to be a brand new game and the multi player will have a huge amount of other players on to play against. I'd say waiting about a month is the way to go.
Lol yeah Ubisoft really re-defined RB games there, on another note GoW is an awesome game and you will have endless fun with it.
Let's run this down, we got 1 huge guy with a assault rifle with a chainsaw attached to it, again an alien like creature who needs like 2 clips in the body before it goes on the ground, only waiting to get killed off or picked up feeling all refreshed again?
Oh yeah, it's screams realism alright.
Anyway he obviously doesn't have to much money, and with no steady income i'd say wait for Halo 3 if you're a fan.
I would go for Halo 3. But i dont think Halo is 60 bucks.. someone said its $70 without helmet, and $100 with helmet, But idk your choice not ours.

Regular is 60, collectors edition is 70, legendary is 110 or 120. Atleast those are the regular prices, i seen the regular for a little less, and personally i bought Halo 3 with 12 month gold for 60 euro (60 euro is the standard for a new game, basicly change the dollar sign for the eurosign and you got our price)

I personally got bored of Gears (and a bit pissed because I can't get the new maps in Germany).
I haven't played Gears since...I think June.
Anyways, I'd go Halo 3, because the number of people playin GoW will drop sharply come Halo 3 (Not just being a fanboy, I look @ reason).
While gears is a GREAT game, The campaign is just too short.
I don't see how this is even debatable, Halo 3 is the best for your money.
I love Gears of War, but since Halo 3 is out so soon I would say grab that, people will stop playing Gears to move to Halo 3 till they are all bored of it :P but IMO you really should own both of these games at somepoint!!!

Oh Yeah, Gears of War still has quite a few online problems, some glitches still not fixed, quite a bit of bullet lag etc.
Yes people will stop playing GoW to play Halo 3, but this is hardly a strong argument, even if 90% quits GoW then it would still be easy to find a game. It's all about being able to play a game, aslong there are enough people online, then it just doesn't matter.
Whoa... my decision would be Halo 3. Since its new , plenty of people will play it.
Well personally I dont like GoW... So my vote is towards HALO 3!!
Halo 3 hands down. But, if you want to get an even better game and don't mind waiting a little while longer. I suggest you get Call Of Duty 4. It will put both Halo 3 and GoW to shame. But, for the here and now, I'll have to agree with NoPeace and say get RB6 Vegas. That, is truly the best game out there right now.

Again, it doesn't matter, who cares how many people play, aslong there are enough players playing it, GoW is still extremely popular, infact the most played game, in December it will turn Classic so it will have a boost in players. I doubt GoW will ever be bad online in terms of amount of players, so that's just not a argument to be made.
