Re: [360/PS3] Grand Theft Auto IV
wounded, I have no idea how you find the missions hard. I'm coping with the handling but I oversteer to much when I hit the handbrake. I have only died twice in about 20 missions (or more). Another annoying part is when you fail to jack a car and random people attack you. Yes it's reality with people stopping a car jacker, but it can get annoying.
Re: [360/PS3] Grand Theft Auto IV
Gamespot gave GTA IV a 9.9/10 for 360...and 10/10 for PS3? lmao why?

PS3 > 360, the only explanation
Na, god knows why. I gotta admit, it is very good on the PS3. The controls are more conveniant because my brother has it for the 360, and the controls are sorta different. Couldn't tell you right here right now, but aiming etc are slightly different from the PS3, I think.

dunno, but form what i heard, the 360 version should have slightly extra content and multiplayer options cos apparently they bought the rights to get extra stuff than the ps3 version.
Re: [360/PS3] Grand Theft Auto IV
Didn't the playstation fans say they weren't going to buy it and get everyone not to buy it or something if they added more content to the X-Box one?
Re: [360/PS3] Grand Theft Auto IV
The PS3 version got 0.1 more in score cause the console's original brightness \ contrast is higher than the 360. The 360 version's shadows is really dark and sometimes making it impossible to see where you're going, so you'll have to increase the brightness, contrast and saturation to make it look like the previous versions (GTA III, VC etc). This is something incredibly small, but it does make an impact on the gameplay.
Re: [360/PS3] Grand Theft Auto IV
IV is the best of all GTA games released. Proper real life too! =D
But unfortunatly, I still haven't got it. Can't wait. =[
Re: [360/PS3] Grand Theft Auto IV
the game doesn't deserve a 10/10 imo. they removed way too much content from previous titles (most likely because of the engine differences) and there wasn't enough added in to replace it. i spent a lot of time on SA and this game made me feel robbed content-wise.
the radio stations aren't better or worse than previous titles, they're just different. i enjoyed listening to the Liberal and Conservative talk radio and watching Republican Space Rangers on the tv's. this game's fine point isn't the soundtrack, unlike vice city.
another thing that annoyed me was the lack of contrast in environments. it's just like Liberty City in the original GTA3, that's all there is - a jungle of concrete and steel. San Andreas had deserts and rural counties. these are things that could easily have been added considering how much more R* likes their new game engine.
the gameplay is good, but it can get a bit monotonous. Niko is the best lead man of the series by far. the ps3 version of the game should've been tested better for its game-killing freeze glitch that is affecting even users of this forum including myself.
if i had to review this game, and if my site rated seventh-generation titles, i would've given GTA4 a 9.4/10.

At least you get to Algonquin fairly quickly.
1) So it's annoying that the physics are actually good now? I actually like that fact as now it takes some real skills to drive fast. :1:
2) It's so much better then what it used to be. So be happy about it!
3) What's wrong with that? Every GTA game except for Vice City/Vice City Stories had 3 sections. It's a way to pace out the game and give users a since of accomplishment when they get to the new areas. At lest in this game you can see the whole city at any time by going into the online multiplayer game.

I hear you on that. It's a shame they removed all the leveling up abilities, needing to eat, etc... Though it is more easily played now for none hard core fans but it would have been cool to have that stuff.
I also felt robbed in SA when they removed the ability to run your own businesses. I loved that part of VC where you can buy your own businesses and run them with side missions. Shame they removed that.

The talk radio was always my favorite in the GTA series and it's even better in this game. Funny to listen to all the Liberal and Conservative trash talk on it. :icon6:

So says the kid who lives in the country. :1:
There is tons of contrast in the environments, though it's not as how it was in SA. It's all urban and within that you get the mixture of different urban atmospheres in it. Unlike with SA where each of the urban areas where monotone. In IV the whole city dynamically changes from one area to the next reflecting how a real city is.
Though hopefully they can take this concept and meld it with the one in SA with their next game. Now that would be amazing to see.

I've yet to really see any game-killing freezes. The only one I've see is it hanging under first load but a restart solved that.
Though it's a common trend now days with console games being full of bugs on release and just think this game was delayed 6 months also. Imagine how bad it would have been if it was released backed in October. O.O
Just wait for a patch like with all new console games.

Had this not been a seventh-generation game, they wouldn't have been able to patch it.

Then R* shouldn't have spoiled us in SA, right? :P
Where are my tanks? :P
Are there any recurring characters from other titles that took place in LC? :P

The handling of cars are physics based now, meaning they are realistic. The hand-to-hand combat isn't better or worse imo, it's different. I liked in SA how you could learn different fighting styles, but that doesn't exist here. Also, unlocking the city is the normal flow of a GTA game. It gives you something to work towards.
Out of all the stuff I miss from SA, the thing I miss the most is no doubt OG Loc :D
Also, the reason the PS3 version > the 360 version is because the 360 version has several loadtimes and graphics issues. The PS3 version only has one loadtime - at the start of the game.

That's true and if that was the case then it wouldn't have been released for another few months. :1:

Yeah they shouldn't have. Though hopefully they'll bring back all of those goodies we long for in the next one. ;)
Yeah I was saying that myself. Though we'll just have to wait until we get to the last area before the military comes along to see if they are still here. Don't see why they would take them out as they have been part of the series since the very beginning.
Who knows if any will show up. Lazlow is somewhere on the radio as I keep hearing ads about his return. Though I wonder who else will make an appearance as R* typically likes to bring back old characters.

OG Loc was an ace character though I do feel Brucie is an even better alternative. That roid head always makes me laugh when he goes off talking about something. :icon6:

Though it's at the expense of 3.5GB. Though that 3.5GB is very much appreciated. That is what I loved about SA. The removal of load times and if it means using up 3.5gb of your 40-80gb of storage then why not. What else will we use it for?
Shame really that the x360 doesn't support game installs. I have a 120gb drive on my elite and it's such a waist not being able to preload games on it. It would work wonders for Oblivion where half the game is loading.

Re: [360/PS3] Grand Theft Auto IV
My biggest gripe remains is that the ps3 version's metascore is 100%, effectively knocking Zelda: OOT off as the critics' greatest game of all time, when GTA4 is clearly not as great of a game as OOT was.
