[360/PS3] which one is actually cheaper

many people say the 360 is cheaper well i say its not. i want to compare the X360 elite to the PS3

    X360 Elite - $561.97 source

    PS3 60Gb- $499.99 + 5 blu-ray dvds source

    so theres the systems now

    Hi-def dvd for X360 - $199.99 source

hi def (blu-ray) for PS3 - included with console

Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter - $99.99 source

PS3 wireless network - included with console

    Xbox live 12 months - 59.99

PS3 online + an actual web browser- free

games and controllers cost the same.

    overall cost for

    Xbox 360 Elite - $921.94 w/o the add-ons $561.97
    Playstation 3 - $499.99

so how do people get the X360 is cheaper then the PS3?

Oh for crying outloud, we got a PS3 fanboy in the room
    X360 Elite - $561.97
Why are you comparing the top model, with the lowest model of the PS3? Why not just compare the Premium with the 60GB? Or compare the Elite with the 80GB.
    Hi-def dvd for X360 - $199.99
Just because someone is added, doesn't mean you should buy it, i don't care about either formats now, and thus i don't own the add-on, nor would i buy it if it was a BR add-on instead. This goes for the majority of the people btw.
    Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter - $99.99
Why would any gamer go wireless? It's crap, most people that tryed wireless, wether it was the 360 or the PS3, went back to a regular cable. Why you might ask? Because it's not a stable connection, a good gamer has a cable.
    Xbox live 12 months - 59.99

PS3 online + an actual web browser- free
You can't compare the 2 services, where as Xbox Live offers you a lag free expierence (atleast on their servers - some companies host their own games like EA), a lot of content, a great system to play with, like 1 gamertag, always being able to invite people to your game, wether you are playing the same game or not, voice chatting while in different games etc Xbox Live simply is a great service, and in America they got a very impressive video marketplace, which is a lot more interesting then Blu-Ray considering i rather rent a HD movie, then pay 30 euro for a movie.
games and controllers cost the same.
Now ain't that just a load of crap, 360 games aren't just 5 euro less on release, but there is also a wide-range of older titles. Where they ask 65 euro for Oblivion on the PS3, you can buy it for 30 on the 360, so you can buy for less money 2 games instead of 1 PS3 game. And yes, you can get a lot of great titles for much less, i got 22 top games here, and i paid about 26 euro on average for my games, and i do actually own 5 full priced games, but i also got games going as low as 10 euro, like Gun, brand new.
so how do people get the X360 is cheaper then the PS3?
Because it just is, let me make you a comparison. I will use euro prices, basicly they are the same as the dollar prices on simply everything, 60 dollars there is 60 euro here, i will also use the PS3 example of 500 euro, as we actually had discounts for 500 euro the past few weeks due to the changes.

Xbox 360 Premium - 350 euro Source - or get the Forza 2 pack for 400 euro
Xbox Live for a year - 60 euro
10 quality titles - 300 euro (again i'm actually below this average, and i only got titles with 8's and higher)
    Total 710 euro

    PS3 60GB version - 500 euro
    Online services - free
    10 games - 650 euro

    Total 1150 euro

That's 440 euro higher, for this you can even go crazy and start buying that HD-DVD addon and the wireless adapter.
And this is with 10 games, if you made that 22 and you go on the average i was, then it would be roughly 900 euro more, not that the PS3 has 22 quality titles.

The fact that the 360 has many great titles already for 30 or less, makes the 360 much cheaper, if the PS3 had quality titles for 30 and less, then i would already have one, but i don't like buying Oblivion for 65, while i bought mine for 25, i don't like buying The Godfather for 65, while i bought mine for 22,50. You understand what i'm getting at, or can you only see the price of the console itself?

The cost of Xbox Live doesn't bother me, it's a great service, it's well worth the money, you really get what you pay for, which goes the same with the PS3, you really get what you pay for. And the HD formats doesn't really do it for me, besides i can get 720p movies from the internet on DVD format, it's not as great as BR or HD-DVD, but it still looks great, and it's free.

cause the X360 premium doesn't have HDMI which costs money anyways -_-. and why pay for Xbox live when PSO is just as good / better for free?

Who the hell told you that PSO is just as good or even better then Xbox Live? You been listening to too much Sony propaganda?

Xbox Live is without a doubt the best online of the 3, it's just that simple.

You are also full of shit because i just noticed you used a completely wrong price, i mean you compared the cheapest PS3 model with the top range 360 with EXTRA's, like a extra controller, quick charge kit, battery packs and some other stuff, the regular Elite costs 479 dollars, so get your head out of Sony's ass, because you can't even compare properly.

This is truely just a fanboy attempt to shit over the 360.

Just because you have all 3 systems, doesn't mean you're not a fanboy. You are obviously crapping all over the 360 with stupid reasons.

And that's not a regular package they are offering:

    Contains:
    # Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Console
    # Black Xbox 360 Wireless Controller and Charge Kit Bundle
    # Black Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery

You can see a extra controller, a battery and a charge kit bundle at the bottom of the picture.

Besides i don't care what is in it, the regular price is 479.

Btw why don't you have gamertag listed, you posted your PS3 name and Wii code, so why not your gamertag? Or don't you actually have 1?

Do me a favor, shoot me a message on GohanSSJZ, i wanna see if you actually own 1 or not, because i smell so much shit in this topic that i rather start sniffing my own ass.

You got 50 GS and a Silver account, my brother has like 500 GS and a Silver Account, and he doesn't own a 360, this just proves you played Call of Duty 2 at a friend or something for say 5 minutes (which is how long it takes to complete the training)

Personally just thought that the consoles themselves ended up the same price here if you gave them equal stuff...
It's just that the ps3 comes with Blu-ray player already installed and 360 didn't have the HD player and chose to have it optional...
Last time I checked (while ago) it was...

It's not when you are still talking about a few games, but the more games you buy, the cheaper the 360 is, i'm averaging 26 euro vs 65 from the PS3, that's 40 difference a game, 5 games is 200, 10 games is 400, 20 games is 800. Big difference there.

in my opinion. they both can add up to be expensive and are pretty much the same price in the end if your willing to get the whole bundle of everything.

My point is that theres not really a big difference in the console, it's just the games imo...

Its to do with bandwidth. Anyone who lives in a city will be in an area with 10+ wireless connections around them (some hidden etc...) and alot of background noise. Wireless networks can only send stuff when other devices arnt, one frequency cant hold 2 signals. Granted they used a range of frequencies but you get signal overlaps. The more things trying to talk to eachother the less bandwidth you personally will get.

With is why we have 56Mbps wireless routers atleast and they keep getting better and better ones. Because more and more people use them they each take some bandwidth slowing the transfer rate.

Hense most gamers use cables. Its not like the console is getting moved around so why would it need wireless? Fair enough using it for laptops etc that would dont really want connected to a wall all the time but for something that is going to be connected to a wall anyway for power whats the point of going wireless unless your hub is in another room etc.

Yeah for laptops and all it's fine, it's all fine for regular work computers, i mean if you open a site, and you lose some of the connection it really doesn't matter much, but when you are in a game then it can cost you your life.

Theres also the expansion problem, any ccna student (as im sure omerta will) will tell ya that wireless has almost reached its limit bandwith wise whereas wired can go a whole lot faster as new media is discovered. For this reason i would never go wireless.

As for HD players and hdmi cables you don't need them to play a 360 i do fine without them, i have no HD tv so why should i spend a huge amount of money on a ps3 that is completely geared to a HD experience when i dont have? why not spend my money a system thats perfect now with the oppertunity to expand it if i need too?

PS3 is better than xbox. Playstation always had better games...Who cares about the processor or the ram? If i had to choose id definitely go for the PS3. I still prefer my pc though :P However the ps3 is a bit more expensive for sure.

Re: [360/PS3] which one is actually cheaper

Are you actually basing this on anything besides the Cell Processor and the Blu-Ray drive, which are both arguably worse then the 360's counterparts.

The memory in the 360 is superior, the videochip is far superior, the Blu-Ray drive is nearly half as slow as the 360's DVD drive, the Cell Processor is incredibly hard to code for, and frankly it's quite useless, i mean how much CPU power do you really need? I don't see the 360 ever having a limitation on that, they will however run into problems with the memory and/or videochip eventually.
Ofcourse the PS3 also came out a year later, even though it's worse for the most part.

So besides the datastorage the PS3 really doesn't have much for it going.
PS3 is better than xbox. Playstation always had better games...Who cares about the processor or the ram? If i had to choose id definitely go for the PS3.
You're right, Playstation did HAD better games, right now Microsoft is buying out game companies and making exclusive deals everywhere.

Make a list of the top games of the Playstation 2, and you will find that half of these titles are not exclusive anymore, are exclusive for the 360 or are spiritually no longer on it (like Final Fantasy since the creator left Square and is now working on 2 exclusives on the Xbox 360, so Sony gets the name Final Fantasy, the Xbox 360 gets the games)

The PS3 has some good titles coming up, but they ain't a lot, while Microsoft has a huge amount of quality exclusive titles.

Is the 360 live even available to all? Also price will vary depending on where you live so what might be cheaper for one will be more for another. Both are good systems. Anyways i think this post will be locked and deleted.

Wireless hasnt reached its bandwidth max its just that to get a high bandwidth you need to pay a high price. I remember seeing a belkin 308mb wireless router that was allmost
