Well... If you like games then yes!
The x360 is more powerful then upcoming high end computers. ;)
The Xenos GPU is in between the R600 (comes out in Feb) and the R700 (comes out Winter 07) in terms of power. And the CPU is on par with current high end desktop CPUs. So it's powerful.
Not only that it's also a media center. So you can stream videos, music and pictures from your PC to your x360. So if you DL a movie you can play it on your x360 via streaming it over the network. Which is really nice.
The games for it looks great and are good in terms of game play. Dead Rising, Oblivion, Gears of War, and the upcomming Lost Planet, Brother in Arms, and Halo 3 are all kickass games.
So in my option it's very worth it.
Sure it's nice on a big HDTV, and I mean very nice. But it still looks damn good on a cheap ass half dead normal TV. Trust me on that. Playing Oblivion on my x360 is so much better on my half dead TV then on my $4000 computer.

Well thank you for your reply NoPeace, im not really very smart when it comes to the inner workings of a machine. When you put it like that it does put things in perspective, and I do think i'll go ahead and get one. Especially that i've been looking around and found you can get some really great deals on them now. Was tempted by a Wii at one point but I think you look like such a twat useing one lol.
The games look pretty good, but I laughed when I seen the x360 points system. £16 for some points so you can download a few new levels for your game. My freind did actually trade up his computer for a new TV & 360. He says it was a great investment but I thought i'd come here first! :) Thank you.

Dont forget to price the cooling system if the system you priced dont have one it would be wise to buy one especially if you are a hardcore player who plays long periods of time.

yeh i'd say its way worth it.
will be getting one myself later on (i'd by lying if i said that halo 3 had no part in that decision :P) always been a fan of the xbox, so i have high expectations for the 360 ;)
NoPeace basically said it all, its a VERY powerful machine.
However, if you are going to get a 360, be sure to get Live. Its the best thing ever..
I say xbox 360 over any other console. Im not a xbox fanboy either if ps3 was just as good i would buy it in a hearbeat. But from ALOT of articles it been proven that the xbox 360 is better system then the ps3.
If you ask me. BUY IT! You wont be UNHAPPY!

You don't need any. As long as it's not under a shit load of stuff and the vents are blocked it'll never over heat.
Never the less the next revision that is being made and going to be sold in Feb time will run even cooler due to it being made on 65nm instead of the current 90nm processes.
That TV has issues if you read up on it. The tube isn't great so there is large amounts of bowing. Then again that's common for most large tube TV's.
LCD's are more expensive but better image and no bowing. ;)

OnlinePixel thanks for the TV bud, but im on a very strcit budget. Seen some nice decent TV's I would be more than happy with. Just found a 28" flat screen for £180. Looking hopeful, and I agree with Lee. If your in the UK and your console starts to get warm, turn off your heater and open the window! :D Thanks for all the replys, I think i'll definatley be getting one.

never had heating problems here. so i'd say a cooling system is overkill.
but yeah they are worth it. im getting a monitor for my pc (22" 1600*1000(estimating can't remember) ) and im gonna use it as a hdtv for my 360 for the first few days, apparently its unsociable to be on a pc during the christmas season.
Good and all but what about the people who have had older models ? Recall or is the 360 going to be sold as 360 SE? Seems a bit silly to me as there are going to be alot of pissed of MS lovers, although MS will make a whole lump more of cash its is soooo stupid because they don't exactly need it!
You forgot the wireless headset :P Once you get one you wont regret it! Also hope to see you on xbl lol, you get GoW and me u and some lads will have a game :)
Silly old people can't make the rules and enforce them!! The computers are there we should be on them if we want :Sapparently its unsociable to be on a pc during the christmas season.
