here we go.
Xbox 360 Video Chip = Better than Ps3 Video Chip . . . to me nothing else makes any differance at all as a game is only as good as it can be displayed and played. . .
What good is having a fast GPU that can't be fed with enough data fast enough to make a difference.
There are quite a few of the new games out there that have a more constant FPS on the PS3 then the x360. Why is that even though the PS3 has a weaker GPU? It's because of the fact that the xeno GPU of the x360 cannot be fed data fast enough.
Now having a better GPU does not mean it has better graphics. It means that it can draw the screen at a higher FPS. Which in fact the x360 fails to do so.
That's because of 2 major things with the x360. It's weak CPU and it's low storage DVDs.
How does that make it happen? It's because to store data onto a DVD you need to compress it. So when you need to get the textures and models off of the disk the CPU needs to pull it off, decompress it, and send it to the GPU.
That causes tons of head room for the GPU and most of the time it's sitting idle. Which makes the superior power useless.
Now with the PS3 that's not the case. It does have a fast CPU and the BluRay disk allows it to have less compression. So it can strip the data from the disk, decompress it, and send it to the GPU much faster. Then it's down to the GPU to render it as fast as possible.
So end the end the PS3 better utilizes it's GPU then the x360 will ever.
So what about the first gen PS3 games that had horrible FPS? Well they were direct x360 ports. They didn't spend enough time to re-compress the game to fit the needs of the PS3. They ported it over and expected teh PS3 to run it the way the x360 ran it. So in the end it performed like crap and now they learned their lesson.

Since when does a quad core not being able to run games well? That's a joke right there. My QX6700 runs games better then my E6700 ever did. Why? Better off loading of the OS tasks. If a game is dual threaded then you have 2 cores for the game and 1 core for the OS with the other left idle.
That is much faster then on a dual core setup which needs to share OS tasks and game tasks.
Now how about coming up with a valid argument then something that is as half ass as that?

Guess what. Segmented RAM lets programming much easier. You know your boundaries and can adapt your code accordingly. Using dynamic allocation can lead to errors when something gets executed when it's not spoused to and takes up to much system resources.
Not to mention the difference between the two isn't even a valid argument. As there is no real gain of the other.

In fact the memory card reader is better then the old fashion ones the x360 uses. Why? Because it accepts any type you have, they are dirt cheap, and much smaller.
How much does a 512mb x360 memory card cost? $50
How much does a 2gb SD card cost? $20
I'll take the SD card any day. Why? 60% cheaper, 4x as much storage, and can be used in multiple devices and not just one thing.

It's 4 USB ports and not 10. And guess what. The x360 does not have enough ports. If you use wired controllers then you can have only a max of 3. Now if you add an MP3 player you loose a port. If you add a WiFi adapter you loose another one. Then you are left 1 for using a controller.
Look at Rock Band for instance. It has to be shipped with a USB hub because of the fact there is only 3 ports.

Useless my ass. They have many uses.
1) Audio
2) AI

4) GPU Feed
5) I/O
6) Data decompression
That's 6 things that can be done and then you have 1 more that can be used to back up any of them.

Xbox 360 is:
Ipod / External HDD Capable / Usb Keyboard capable . . .
Guess what... The PS3 can do all of that also. And how do you add more functionality into a USB port? A USB port is a USB port. Now that's a plain stupid argument there.
And want to know something else? The PS3 doesn't even need it's 4 USB ports. Why? Any BluTooth device can connect to it. So no need to use cables.
So you can have a USB mouse, Keyboard, Headset, MP3 player, etc connected to it without wires.
Also... The PS3 has USB keyboard support before the x360.

Umm... The exact same thing the x360 can do and more. You can actually use USB devices and memory cards to store data from the HDD to it. Now can you do it with the x360 without voiding your warranty with hard mods? Nope.
Not just that but the PSP can also connect up to the PS3 and use it as a remote file server. Which the x360 just cannot do.

The way the Ps3 even attempts to half of that is barbaric at best in execution.
You should be slapped.
1) The PlayStation Store actually does it right. Both the XBL Store and the Wii Online Store are horrible in comparision.
2) The PS3 can also connect up to a media server just like the x360 does.
3) The PS3 can also run stuff off of external drives and MP3 players. Not just that but it can also back up to them. Which the x360 cannot do.
4) Yes the x360 can DL full length movies but the PS3 will be getting that in it's next update and you'll be able to use IPTV services also with it.
5) MS copied the idea of selling old games XBox games on XBL from Sony. You have been able to buy PSX games from the very beginning. Not to mention there are quite a few downloadable arcade games on the PS3 and you can even download full PS3 games off of it's store. Which you cannot do on the x360.
6) Text messages, audio messages, and VOIP has been on the PS3 from day one.
And guess what. None of it is half ass done. In fact the store is much better done.
Unlike with MS. Once you paid for something you can use it on any machine you log onto. Then any user on that machine has rights to it. Now with MS, it's not like that. Only the original machine allows all users to access the content. If you get a new machine then any additional users are not allowed to access it. Now that pissed me off because I bought myself Geometry Wars
and a bunch of Oblivion content off of XBL with my wife's account (as she demanded the points be put on her's) and when I had to get a new machine I no longer had access to any of it. Causing me to buy it all over again for myself.

Now how exactly does it fall short? It's the most powerful micro processor to date. 8 Cell processors can simulate 200 nodes (processors) of a super computer.
Explain that?
Not jut that. How come it can actually feed the PS3's GPU unlike the x360?
Explain that also?

Hell what does that have to do with anything you are aguing? In 4 years there will be a next generation of consoles.

Read up. 45nm cannot handle 8 cores. Nor can it handle 16. In a year you'll have dual threaded quad cores. Maybe at the very end of the year you might see a 35nm 8-core CPU.

Now how is it behind it's time?
The Cell processor is the most power and efficient CPU out there and will be like that for a few years to come.
Why else would IBM be using them only in their highest end blade servers and mini computers?
And how is it a mistake and even a failure. The machine is successful. Believe it or not. It's doing it's major goal. To build a strong BluRay front.
Now argue all you like. BluRay will be the next optical standard and replace the DVD. And it's all thanks to the PS3.

I'm neither a Sony or a MS fanboy. If a fanboy comes along saying one thing is better then the other, I will argue the total opposite. And guess what. What I am saying is actually true because I have researched this topic in depth and I have had tons of experience with all of the systems.
There has been only 1 major system that I have not had experience with and that's the SEGA Saturn and that wasn't even a major system as it was a major failure for SEGA. Mainly due to their no marketing approach to it's launch.
NoPeace - out

click o.O
some PS3 games let you play with the keynoard/mouse ie. R:FoM
Blu-Ray discs are uncompressed. you can play all the way through uncharted with loading but 1 time. Blu-Ray is constantly read. and i heard the Cell can help the RSX process the graphics itself. and if the RSX uses all the 256Mb ram it can use some of the Cells 256Mb ram. but the Cell can't use the RSX's ram
and if the X360 has the best graphics then show me a 360 game and compare it to uncharted...

Re: [360] xbox 360 problems?
After all this is an xbox360 thread..
and it owns.
But can anyone atleast find a way to fix the freezes <video>?
Re: [360] xbox 360 problems?
Meh, mine keeps overheating, Help ><
Re: [360] xbox 360 problems?
Final post in this... again, call Microsoft to get it repaired. If you still want to fix it yourself then find a forum where people actually do that themselves.
