I bought the alpha like a week ago and played it occasionally over the last few days.
Firstly, I'd lik to remind everyone reading this thread that this game has been in development for over 2 years and just recently got released as an alpha. If you look at their site there is a list of features (soon) to be added;
Spoiler:
General:
Quote:
Fixing bugs: We have already gathered a big list of bugs and glitches reported by players.
Compatibility: Some players have DirectX initialization problems on their PCs. We will try to find out the reasons and solve these issues.
Performance: We will work on performance optimizations, both for client and server.
Remappable controls: We will make all controls configurable.
Scalable GUI: We will make the GUI scalable, so it works well with lower resolutions, too.
Multiplayer server configuration: We will add more server configurations options, such as a configurable port.
New content: We already have a few things in the making, such as new creatures.
Changes to the website: We'll restructure the site a little and add a new forum and probably a bugtracking system (if anyone can recommend a good bugtracker, please let me know).

Players can swim and dive through rivers, lakes, and oceans.
Hang Gliding
Players glide through the air and explore the world from above using hang gliders.

Dungeons
Dungeons can be castles, catacombs, temples, pyramids etc. and are full of powerful enemies and rare loot. Each dungeon has a boss.
Overworld Dungeons
Overworld Dungeons are less linear and more freeform than regular dungeons. They usually consist of multiple separate buildings or ruins and have a boss somewhere in the center.
Portals
Portals consist of magic rune stones that can be found anywhere in the world. Players can quickly teleport between discovered portals.
Missions
Missions are generated every Cube World day. A mission involves defeating a boss monster or a dungeon boss. Completing a mission rewards the player with valuable items and tokens.
Planned: Procedural Quests
Procedural quests are randomly generated tasks with varying story, creatures, and places. Our goal is to come up with a diversified non-repetitive system.
Planned: Background Story
We're planning to add a background story and lore to add more depth.
Planned: Housing
We're planning to enable players to build their own house. Players will be able to store items, trophies, pets etc. in their house and extend the house gradually.
and those are just a few of the features to be added. For a full list visit their website
Own Experience
Firstly, I hear a lot of people saying 'It's just a Minecraft rip-off' and while it is also a randomly generated block world it's about the only thing that's similar. In Cube World you're not able to destroy and place blocks freely like in minecraft. You can however make your own houses by using blueprints (soon to be added). Another major difference is the battle experience. In Minecraft fighting PvP and both PvE are both a bit awkward and there is no real dead animation or anything. In Cube World battling is much more dynamic and actually requires skill rather than spamming the mouse button =]. Also interesting to know is that your character stays the same even when playing on different servers. Not only your stats and appearence gets transfered but also your items and pets and stuff. Pretty cool. I could write a whole book with features of both games, but you get my drift. I'm a big fan of both Minecraft and Cube World so yah =$..
From what I've played so far, the game is immensely big. And I'm not only speaking world-wise. So far, I've played a good amount of hours and I'm only lvl 5. Tbh, I did a lot of exploring skipping battles if possible. I started playing without looking up anything so i had to find everything out myself which was actually pretty fun. Since there aren't any quests yet you just kind of wander around trying to level or raid a dungeon. I agree with everyone that there isn't a lot to do in the game and that gameplay get's repetetive fairly quick, even tho just exploring and stuff only can entertain you for a few hours. But, everything that is the game is done extremely well imho.
Keep in mind that it's only a two-man team developing Cube World and that it is an alpha version of the game. I read that Wollay (The main developer) is going to try to get it on Steam so be on the lookout for that. Lastly, the game is only 15 euro in alpha stage, slightly higher in beta and even higher in the final version. Updates will be forever free. I personally think this game will be awesome and have been waiting for it fr a long time so I purchased it right away when it came available.
If you have any questions or wanna play with me, send me a PM =].

Re: Cube World finally released.
Game is definitely worth the try and the artwork or effects are really good but then again it seems heavy for low end specs. Can somebody share a screenshot in-game showing the lowest quality of the game. I hope a crack version for this one comes out, so I could try and experience the game fully.

Any news so far if the game is still fun? No one even streams about this game on twitch.

For me it was a game that was fun to play for the first 4 hours.. I feel as I am never going to open the game again :( Maybe its just me.

For now, I agree. However, when Wollay adds a higher player count for multiplayer servers and quests and stuff are going to be added I think the game will have a much higher entertainment rate for a much longer time. Big chance tho that that will take a while knowing they are only with 2 developers and they do everything themselves.

Does the game have like a lan system? Because I wanna play the game with friend without the use of Internet.

Re: Cube World finally released.
It does have a COOP mode for up to four players I believe. I'm honestly not sure if that also works via LAN. Best chance is to take a look around their forums and possibly look for the 'how to set up a cubeworld server' guide. Maybe it explains there what to do for a LAN world.
