I've had no issues either, I have a pretty stable 30-40 ping on the server :)
I need to get Arma II and play the DayZ mod :/
Another 3 hours of work, only to reach the SW airfield and get shot on sight. Mother fuckers.
I'll be on for the next hour or two if anyone wants to hop in.

We definitely need some starting gear. Standalone is so much easier to start off.
I'm doing fine. I've got a stash of food and weapons for anyone who can make it to me.
Really you just do suicide runs in to buildings until you find a melee weapon. Once you have a way to kill silently zombies are hardly a threat as long as you have buildings around.
I'm still playing ATM for anyone who wants to come on.
Ron is right. The only hard part is to get your starting weapon (Hatchet or Machete for example).
Also dont try to rush into towns for that loot but advance slowly (crouch or prone). Zombies will hardly even notice you when you are prone.
It is harder than the standalone version of DayZ for sure, but more rewarding, as well ^_^
Well, I'm actually done for now. The unannounced server restart despawned my tent, which was filled with food, a crossbow with 10 arrows, and a m4 with 4 clips.

I'm not sure an RZ server is all that exciting at least for me because part of the attraction is that you do not know who's out there and where...
Not to mention, the main threat usually isn't even the zombies. And if we're all buddy buddy with each other, it takes away all the excitement.Quote:

@Tyler is right, we need to get the server advertised and known a bit, even outside RaGEZONE.
Naturally when I was on the server last night with Tyler and Ron we were socializing in Sidechat a lot and assisting eachother, whereas this will probably get tougher when the server is filled with 40-50 people.
Not only because it has more players in the server, but Chernarus (DayZ's map) has just a few hotspots where people love to go (Cherno, Elektro, NW Airfield etc) so you will have to be way more careful.
I don't think everyone on RaGEZONE will be friendly to one another on there, there must be plenty of people that will pop on just to kill others and become a true Bandit.
Not to mention that this server is really only known to people reading this particular thread. Perhaps we should also focus on getting it publically announced on the DayZ Mod forums and eventually perhaps get the support of MentaL and his minions ^_^

can somebody explain how to play this game. i just bought dayz on steam for 25 dollars without realizing its not what i needed to play. when i try to play on the steam version i just lag to the point where i cant even move around, and when i try to change the video settings it crashed =.=
