I would guess that the new Microsoft director just thinks that it's not making enuf money.
But they never really made a descent game. Except age of empires 2. After it was a downfall.

I guess its a little sad to see them go. Although I don't think there is much you can do to continue Age of xxx. They will finish halo wars still and all the staff have jobs in future development.

We are happy that Ensemble got to spend as much time as we did entertaining our fans over the last 12 years, and we would not be where we are without such a great bunch of people standing behind us. For what it is worth we thank you. As we move into the future we will continue to support the Age of Empires and Halo Wars fans and franchises and make sure that they are supported fairly.

I disagree with you they made rise of nations which was an excellent game
