Ah yeah - Try Lost Odyssey. Great Storyline in it.
But it's fallen back to random encounters - which can be an annoyance.
Nah I agree, I prefer playing a male character. FFX-2 was a bit weak due to it being all female lol, the only FF I haven't finished I think. I'm sure XIII will have some strong male characters though.
Edit: I think random encounters are a must to be honest, it gives you a chance to strengthen your character more than someone else who might be at the same spot. Plus most of them will have a 1/2 or 0 encounter item or equipable :)

Storyline, I don't know how the combat system works yet. Seems to have a similar 'look' to FFX, which I loved.

omg FF12 sucked i hated the battle system -_- not turned based made me sad lol. you had some kinda yellow line showing what enemy you was targeting.

Think it's only similar, I'm sure they will work on it alot. I also prefer the old system though. FFXII seems to share a similar system to FFXI online, which was pretty decent actually.Quote:
