I got the game today with my new x360, it's amazing I have to say, GOB SMACKING.

I really should play this game. Got the collectors edition just sitting on top of my x360 under Halo, Star Wars Lego, and DoA3. Weird. It's at the bottom of the original xbox games. O.O
Just waiting to get a HDTV before playing it as it looks like shit on my crappy TV and the game is all about the visuals. O.O

Gameplay is great sure... But other games have done stuff similar. Not as hard core though. But the most revolutionary part of the game and what it's marketed as is the new Unreal engine it's uses that has amazing visuals.Quote:

What else? Oh yeah it bows alot. If you don't know what bowing is. Then lets just say. My sowrd in Oblivion which is normally straight looks like a wet noodle. All bent out of shape.
Also there flickering! Yeah that's right. It flickers alot. Sure normal CRTs flicker at times but almost everything flickers. =P
What else? The sound sucks. Used to have nice killer 15w speakers. So pimpage at the time. Now it's either too loud or to quiet. Never just right. Though that doesn't matter much as I do have a 5.1 channel setup.
Last but not least. It's a challenge to turn on. Take a few trys of pushing the button to turn on. ;)
Now you see why I don't want to spoil the game by playing it on my TV. =P
Might just hook it up to my dad's 26" LCD to play it but then it's a fight with my sister to use it. -.-

In my opinion the sword was fine, on the whole the maps were far too large for the swords to be of significant impact, and at least they could be countered with snipers, rockets etc... (maybe they should have had battery for the sword online, that would make it perfect). The problem with the chainsaw on Gears of War is that most of the maps are quite small, and people are able to look around walls, so all they do is rev it up and camp with it, then slash someone in the back and win with no skill.Quote:
