I dont think priv. servers on guild wars is possible because it is kinda 1 player once you leave the towns. It could be very diffictult to make it. Even if the server files come out, it will take another few months to configure them.

I think a private GW server may be a good idea, especially if you know a lot of pen n paper RPGers or MUD RPGers (i know a lot of MUD RPGers)
It would be nice to be able to create your own models, NPC's, monsters, items etc. and create new worlds for your RPG adventures.
I guess i`m an old school Roleplayer at heart, you don't need thousands of players to enjoy a Private GW adventure.
:)
it would suck using henchman tho.
there would be 100+ servers but only like 500 peeps would play it so you would have to stay somewere for 5 hours to find a party of 4 to do a mission.Just buy guildwars tho its only
ummm...i don't think you can kill steal or ninja steal in GWQuote:

Man.. Guild Wars is easy enough let alone have a private server. If you play for like 1 week you should get about lvl 18-20 easily. Its easy now until the next patch in like december or something that makes max lvl higher.
I`m not complaining that GW is too hard/easy
I do own the game and a valid CD Key, i play actively.
BUT, it would be a nice idea to be able to create your own world and adventures using the engine. I play MUD's where there is only an average of 20 people online at any given time, it's all about the roleplay and adventure :)
If i had a 100% stable version of the GW code, i'd aim to remove the instanced playing and make it a true MMO, but that's just me and my crazy ideas.
I don't see the purpose for a GW private server because this game isn't meant to be played small-realm singleplayer "YOUR OWN AWESOME WORLD". If you want something like that than your best bet is to make it with a simple engine or find a game that does have private servers. There's no harm in checking for GW private servers but its pretty obvious that they don't exist. However, it's incredibly cheap and stupid if you just want one because you don't feel like paying $50 for a excellent game. It doesn't exist and request-wise you'll need to find a team because nobodies going to go out of their way with hundreds of man-hours to create you your own personal playhouse.

If I am looking for a game, I am often told that it is possible for them to order a copy... but that isnt an issue as I now often use a creditcard to buy online.
With strict port and NAT settings you can still play with others... I believe that your client just filters out packets as the same amount of packets are received (well around that of the international district, so its still on server), and others do not connect to you.Quote:

it would sucks
if max lvl is lvl 20 and its a priv servr the xp is bound to be high hence.you play a server for a week and switch to a diff so there would be NO long term servers
to be honest, guild wars, is the RPG made for FPS fanatics.
level up fast, then get in guilds and war.
hence the names guild wars.
it is made specifically for PVP, not adventuring.
WoW has PvP but the game is made for adventuring and shit.
i would just buy the game, 1 week to get to max level isnt too bad.
Well hence with in a month or so someone would crack the files, and the level limit would be much higher and change the mobs level's so theres more too do for longer.Quote:

if there was rz should make one like they did with soma.it was the only 1 cause if all the mu noobs switched from making mu server to making gw server there would be like 5000 servers and only 30 peeps would play on each
well... reviving the post :p is there any Guild Wars private server now??? I heard from a friend that it exists, but I can
Don't think anyone bothered making an emulator to run a private server, mainly because it's not P2P and it's not a true MMO.
