Doubtful. I've never heard of it, and can't imagine why they would, unless it was due to come out a year or two after the PS3 one ;)Quote:

I still can't remember Square ever announcing a new Final Fantasy 7; it's still a rumor!
In fact, it was speculation by dire fans of the original Final Fantasy, and from what I've seen around the internet and magazines, is that Square is in strong defense that they are NOT making a Final Fantasy 7 game for the Playstation 3. Yes, there was some "tech demo" depicting a cut scene, a shoddy cut scene, of the original Final Fantasy 7. They were merely testing the capabilities of the system, as stated by square, of the Playstation 3. They chose Final Fantasy 7 because of the hype around that perticular episode in the series.
It will be quite a curve ball if they have been lying this entire time to ground up adoration for the title.
they talked about a second part for FF7, (forward from advent children) but never heard anything about 360.
Well, there was the Tech Demo, but there have been more rumblings than just that. I've read so many articles in magazines about a possible remake, I think a lot of it is fans, sure, they want the game really bad. But there are others that have fueled the fire...Quote:

I honestly do see it happening, in probably a couple years into the PS3's life. That would be HUGE.Quote:
From the transcript:
1UP: OK. My last question is, the FF7 tech demo for PS3 is very provocative. And there are only probably about 15 million people out there who would like to see it become a game. Is he as interested in seeing an FF7 remake as everyone else is?
TN: The PS3 tech demo was actually not the perfect forum that he wanted to have. It was just timing that we had to submit something in time for E3, for the press conference. So, again, it was not perfect forum. And the 7 remake idea was always, always in conversation, just because it's so popular. And then just because of that tech demo here in the PS3 conference, that probably based more expectations of fans, obviously. And Kitase-san already has told Nomura-san so many times that if there is a remake, that should be created by Nomura. But, again, Nomura-san has so many other projects lined up already in the future schedule, so it's almost impossible to think about that and squeeze that in. But if there is a right time, it would be interesting to create.
1UP: You just started a fire nobody's going to be able to put out. It's going to drive people crazy. Thank you very much.
Actually made a section to it on 1up.com ;)

Cool thread, I played FFX and hated the ending...But fun game to play.
Final Fantasy 7 is the best RPG game ever .
I think the most famous FF its FFVII (the movie and remake) maybe for most people its the best RPG ever made (the dead of Aeris was original, think never seen this in a RPG) if the remake its true then it will worth the wait. i liked the movie (not what i expeted) but was good, hope PS3 will bring us FF7 dream again. :)
