for what you enjoyed the most
Well, yes, it does matter. Some people may prefer RPG over FPS or vice versa. Therefore completely biasing the answer to the question... If one prefers FPS over RPG one would say HL2 is better. It is not easy to compare an RPG with an FPS, and I enjoyed both of these games equally in their own respective genres, so I would have to vote for both.

while yes they are in different genres you can still judge which is better. My way of thinking it through was first: ok oblivion was very fun and i'm still playing it, HL2 was very entertaining as well. Second: Ok but they are two totally diff genres so lets see: Oblivion is a RPG and a very popular RPG with very few that are on or above its level. HL2 is an FPS but theres other FPS i find better and that are superior to it so Oblivion is better imo.

same with me for half-life 2 :tp: in any case they both really make me just look around rather than play the game, but if you compare, let's say, faces you'd have to agree with me that hl2 has more realistic faces and expressions. I like oblivion but I don't have a high-end computer (anymore). Game play-wise I'd have to go with both of them, although oblivion will have you sitting in your chair for days on end (if you like that sort of thing)
Re: HL2 or Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
im ganna get em both and try em, will vote later =p
