They're both great games and IMO you can't compare them.
Mmm I wouldn't get oblivion i can't run the damn thing cause it says my video card don't run with it. And its more than enough power to run Oblivion...

I've gotta go with HL2. I love both of these games to death but I had much more fun on HL2 than I did on Oblivion. That was a hard vote lol.
As said both are great but for me Oblivion blasts beyond HL2
if your would of said HL2E2 then i would take HL2E2 but between normal HL2 and Oblivion i would say oblivion... u can do so much stuff there.

Never really like HL myself, but Oblivion is a good game.. although I only played that for about an hour.. Game just bored me

HL2 was incredible at the time, because it was a totally new experience in terms of the physics etc. I've gone with Oblivion though, played it for so much longer. Stupid polls ftw!

I think when it comes to realism hl2 blows oblivion out of the water (and I mean graphic-wise) which is sort of ironic how intense ES4 is on my computer.

Different Genres. Cant compare. But I'd prefer Oblivion anyday.
As many have said, they are probably one of the best if not the best in their own genres.

Mmm, I prefer Half Life 2 Graphics wise but Oblivion can still make me sit back at times and just stare at the scenery in awe. Qarl's Oblivion Texture Pack is an awesome add-on too, 2GB of re-done textures, looks damn nice but can kill your FPS.
