something seems to drop my FPS to ~15 every once in a while. other than that I get smooth gameplay
Been playing it sense Tuesday at 12:00AM and I just love this game. I'm surprised on how well it plays. I was thinking that it wouldn't be as good as BF2 but I'm shocked on how well the game play is. The single player campaign does suck, but then again DICE isn't famous for their single player games. Though the multiplayer is true to the Battlefield name. There's nothing like hoping in a tank and blowing away a wall to shoot the bastard hiding behind it with an RPG.
I'm also shocked on how well it runs on my system. I was expecting to need to turn down the settings to run it at 1080p on my gaming laptop but I don't need to at all. It runs smooth as butter with everything set to Ultra, HBAO, motion blur, and AA turned off (don't really see the point of running AA at 1080p).

Just got my key and installing the game. Played campaign before and it's amazing.
Also I am surprised that my old 5870 plays on ultra with no problems (2xAA)

If only they didn't shit all over snipers. It's better to use a semi-auto sniper with ironsights because sniping in this game is terrible. A bolt action doesn't have the stopping power of an AK or M16 round-per-round. The glint is retarded, and almost none of the maps have enough distance to warrant sniping (your AK will be plenty accurate to drop someone in a couple of bursts from 100-150m away if you don't suck at aiming).
So yeah, that's too bad.

Another set of really stupid things in this game: RPGs and tanks.
RPGs 1-shot you if they so much as blow up a few miles from you, and tanks are just driving lol machines due to engineers.
Then that's something you're doing wrong, jMerliN. I usually play with a couple of mates, usually at least one engineer and at least one support. I've yet to have a tank seriously bother me.
If we take a chopper, we control the skies. My mate is an awesome pilot and we just gun choppers, tanks, jets, buggies, whatever down in no time.
Also, I've only seen RPGs do 1-hit kills with (next to) direct impact. Usually I'd survive with some health left (no FLAK). And often they'll miss you completely.
Unless you only play hardcore?
Such an amazing game. But I must admit that CoD:MW3 will be awesome!

(This is completely apparent when I snipe kill people with an M16 or AK from 200m with 2 shots and why people are running around spraying from the hip with a laser sight, because you don't actually need to aim. The game aims for reality, but dismisses it entirely. Nobody is this accurate with automatic weapons IRL, ironsights are 100% accurate, yet IRL 2 angles of your weapon aren't correctable with ironsights and it's terribly inaccurate. This makes sniping worthless in this game since almost no map has the distance without the cover necessary, and for shorter ranges, fully automatic weapons are more effective. Hilarious.)
@ tanks, a free inexhaustible 50cal with no chance of death = OP. One engineer can counter AT fire. It's stupid and not even slightly realistic (nor is the rotation rate on the turrets, nor the reload rate given .. 1 guy in the tank, etc).
