[PC] Neverwinter Nights 2

Hey I'm just wondering if anyone else pre-ordered it? I did today so I'm going to try and get it the 31st or 1st. Tried the toolset and it was ok, uninstalled it though because its the pre-release version.

Oh btw I'll mainly be on the online side of the game at first, well as soon as I play offline a little to learn how to play. So when the day comes for online I'll post my ign and hope to join some RZ players.

You have to buy the CD and after that its free online. From what I read the first one had a big community for a long time. The battle system can be compared to kind of like star wars KOTOR

Cool, be nice to have people that are from a community I go to play with me. One of my friends said he would play it after he tries it at my house. The toolset is so you can make your own maps and quests. It was really nice for a pre-release and wasn't as hard to use as the one for elder's scroll. Graphics are really good (not FPS good but RPG good). From the look of the first NWN game they will have alot of updates for it.

Shouldn't be out yet but eh idk could be some illegal places. But says its coming out tomorrow for eb games/gamestop. My pc isn't the best but is ok and can run it. Here is a link to a site that will test your pc to check if you can run it just click on the bar under #1 and find NWN 2 and then click run. It will test and see if you can, may need active x but it works on my fox fire.

After playing the game for about 2-3 hrs its been an ok game. Not the best but not the suckiest.

One thing that is making me eh is how when I'm on my driud I'm not getting any new powers or skills that are used for attacking. But the mage in my team got one every lvl.

The pet system is basic, pet attacks when bad guys are around.

Story is not upper as of right now, but I think I'm still in the tutorial. Because game said I could skip it and move on to main story but I havent, mainly to learn to play.


EDIT: Been playing it more now and its getting more fun. Fought a boss monster which did half life in 1 hit, thank god pet got agro for a 2 of those hits haha.... its around 8/10 after you get into the game

Its not hard to learn to play, but get ready to READ ALOT. Now npcs talk to you and all but skills dont haha.... and lets just say the skills are confusing to noobs like me.

I will tell you more when I play more but for now I want a break. So far the game is a 6/10 till I get out of the tutorial or new skills that can be used its that rating.

EDIT: I found out how to get my magic haha... I had to put them in my book so I could use them. I never knew that, guess its one of the the things I didnt mean to skip in the start of the game. Game is 9/10, will be 10/10 if I like the online play.

played it today, the game is fine, the damn fights are even slower than in NWN... that's probably the only thing i hate about it, no more real changes except graphic(engine is a bit wierd... no super effect or anything but it still lags with a good PC) and the storyline.
I was a bit dissapointed by the game, since it was still using the dice roll combat system wich was used since the baldurs gate ...

i give 7/10.

Yeah I played online a little. Only problem with online so far that I have had was my pc reset when one of the players didnt load in when they reseted the map. My account name is Darkhearts and my character's name willl always start with Darkhearts so if anyone wants to play later say so but for now I'm going to watch bleach and eat dinner.

Dude, I thought you can read. The game has both singleplayer AND MULTIPLAYER, so which part you didn't understood?

No reason to be mean. If anyone wants to get together and play online just make a time you want to do it but we need someone to host a server for us.

hey man i posted that really early in the thread for some reason it kept going down as each person posted, a bug perhaps, and i got the game i got a computer that is above all the recommended requirements and i get alot of lag

A word of warning to those who want to play this - prepare for a major disappointment if you do not have a high or super high end system.

Literally hundreds of people (there are over 40 pages of complaint posts now on the bioware forums) are having technical issues with computers on every end of the spectrum. People with Radeon X1900 XT+ cards, literally the most powerful video cards in the world right now, are being told by Obsidian to turn their graphics down to the point that it looks worse than NWN1 for the game to run properly.

My PC which fits in to the top 4% most powerful gaming systems on Earth can barely run the game at a stable 15 frames a second. The Auto Detect feature in the game does not work.

So, if you get the game and complain over hitches, dont say I didnt tell you so =p

Also, for those saying "oh it uses dice rolls so it sucks" and "its combat is slow" - on the box it is clearly indicated that this game is built off of the Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 ruleset and is set in the Forgotten Realms. If you do not like DnD, do not play this game.

i got an IBM lenovo dual core at 1.66ghz each

1gig of ram with an ATI Radeon X1400 512mb video card

and i lag like shit, btw how do you check your fps in the game?

I only have a AMD athlon xp 2000+ 1.66GHz, Geforce 6600 256mb, and 1gig ram. My pc runs nicely and I can put mine on medium (but it doesnt look different). Just shadows and bloom off, thats what makes my pc go crazy. Only problems I've had with the game is 1 time a little talk didnt play so I couldnt get a guy so lucky I saved before I exit the map. And another was when one player online couldnt load in when the DM changed the map.


edit: Read some more of what people said (normally scan it).
Kaoii- People most have something that sucks on their pc then to make them do that. Because The graphics cant go as low as NWN1 from what I've seen.

ZPM- What are you doing to make it lag? Your cpu may not let it happen but idk because my cpu is just as good as a Pentium 4 2.0GHz

bottom kicker- Idk if yours can work but from what you have its better then mine. So from comparing it should, but it could be that some video cards just have bugs with the game. Idk.
