    [PC] Rainbow Six: Vegas

Anyone else noticing a huge Gears of War influence here?

I've played it on the XBox 360, the demo at least, is it comparable? The graphics were sick on the Xbox 360

I've only played the demo Smo, but as far as that goes I wouldn't say it's that similar to GoW. Cover system is very basic in comparison.

No, Rainbow is nothing like Gears of War ( on the 360 anyway... ).
The game is based more on shooting one bullet into a terrorist and killing them, whilst staying alive by covering - in Gears of War you can hit someone multiple times and they will still be alive, but you have a lot of options for cover and blindfiring. Rainbow has always been simple like this and that is what makes it quite fun! Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow used to be the game on xbox for at least a year, until Halo 2 came out - it was amazing!

Heh, So many hours spent on xbox live playing black arrow. Is Vegas tactical? Since that's what i've always liked about the past games but gears of war doesn't look to tactical.

how can a game developed and released over the same timeline be influenced by each other. surely another game from a previous generation would have influenced em.

I must say the r6:las vegas demo kicks ass, haven't played GoW. should be getting both for christmas via proxy of my brother.

They are nothing alike. GoW is all about cover and pooring tons of ammo into your opponent. Rainbow 6 is about team work and stradegy which you don't use much of in GoW.

Other then a completely different cover system that they have there's nothing in common. Not to mention GoW just seems to play so much better. =P

Good, sounds pretty cool. I like the games when it's one shot kill since you actually have to hide and not just spray into the enemy.

I really wouldn't mind giving it a blast on the Xbox, never been into the Rainbow games but it looks awesome and can't fault the 1 shot 1 kill system.

Well it's more a figure of speech, rather than having to put a clip in someones forehead before they fall over it's much more realistic.

Not one shot one kill. But close. You can probally take 4 shots in a row before you die. But if you wait 20 secs with out getting hit you recover your health. Never the less it seems like one

depends on the players armour cover, for instance someone with 0 agility and full armour will be able to take more than a full clip from most guns on the game (in the chest), also anyone wearing no armour will be A LOT faster than someone in full, its hillarious when some dude in full armour is bitching about how you've ran off with the item and made it to the end in 3 minutes.

i tend to go for a splintercell approach making me fast :P

Sounds awesome, I'm all for the guy who runs up to the front with a Saw and fires whilst the other's complete the objective.
