I was going to buy a PS3 two months ago, but then I realized I'd only be playing MGS4....I might totally sound biased but the ps3 aint got games....so paying 399$ for a console that I probably use for the blu ray player is not a smart choice. All of their games that they have out are either multiplatform or rentals, Yes I've played Drakes, warhawk, lair, heavenly sword all of them which are rentals.
Really, PS3 is no more powerful than Xbox 360. They both have its pros and cons which balance each other out. If you're looking for an arsenal of pretty good games, go with 360. If you're looking for very few but very good games, go with PS3. MGS4 is pretty much the only game I know that is exclusive to PS3 and is very good. Other good games on PS3 are already on 360 too. So, I suggest you to get a 360 again if you want to get your money's worth. PS3 is bit too pricey.

BTW. Get CoD4 or Warhawk with the Jabra Bluetooth bundle first. :D if you buy a ps3

At this point, I'd have to say PS3. I have a 360, though. Go with what your friends are playing, it is always much better if you're playing with friends.

A few other problems I noticed with the Xbox360, but which might have been fixed with the new releases:
- Over heated and froze in-game, even though I had that cooler thing shit for it...which probably made it even hotter if anything.
- Scratched my GOW CD in the same spot..twice, a big nice old circle scratched into the disk.
My PS3 froze once, and I've had it for about 6 months or so, never overheated...can leave it running for a day and it'll still be fine.
But really...in the end, it's what the majority of your friends have. Because most of the games are the same except for a few exclusives, and you won't really have fun playing alone. PS3 is still fairly quiet online, if you're more of a social player, I recommend you go for the XBOX360, which has had a VERY user friendly interface accommodating a lot of friend features...that the PS3 still lacks, but it's getting there (might be too late once it does "get there")
