mp4 sucks with ps3, also buying movies online sucks with ps3
on the other hand the psp <->ps3 connection is sweet with recent firmwares

Quite nice that it upscales all your DVDs though, plus PlayTV soon looks very nice. I do actually use my 360 for music too by connecting my Ipod, works crap on the PS3

Ah fair enough, I own loads :P a few blu-ray too, they're damn expensive though.
Re: [PS3] Is it worth it?
I personally choose cable over wireless everytime with gaming, with regular PC usage and all it's fine, but if you want to game then you want to get the best connection possible. ;)
Btw the Pro and Elite versions come with a mic already.
To answer your original question though, yes the PS3 is worth, so is the 360. Depending on what you want to do with your PC and what you have now, i would have to say it's not worth getting a new one if you just want to use it for gaming, it's seriously lacking games.

u even contradict yourself and u said major fail to me .... yea right
so u would use music on ps3 hmm media center ?
and ps3 is superior as a media center simply cause it has blue ray
The general population doesnt care about anything els
There r only 2 options HD dvd and blue ray if u want to watch high def movies and now that hd dvd has died out blue ray is the only option remaining so thats what ppl buy

"The media itself may be stored, received by terrestrial, satellite or cable broadcasting or streamed from the internet. Stored media is kept either on a local hard drive or on a (wireless) network attached storage. Some software is capable of doing other tasks, such as finding news (RSS) from the Internet. Media centers are often operated with a remote control, connected to a television set for video output, and can sometimes function as a normal personal computer."

yea and ur point being ?
the ps3 can do all that
Not all xbox360 have a harddrive therefor it aint even a media center
and to quote the last sentace
(and can function as a normal personal computer)
considering u can instal linux on a ps3 ... nuff said
If u have anything els to add i would sugest u pm me as this will just escalade in a useless debate
Re: [PS3] Is it worth it?
the point is a blue ray dont define a media center neither does a harddisk, the streaming and media(as in streamed media) playback capabilities is what defines a media center, and there is where the xbox is superior (as i said exp when use tversity) on the other hand if you own a psp and like to stream videos and music form ps3<->psp a ps3 is better.

So much bullshit yet again. Why don't you get it through your thick head, i don't want no fanboy crap like yours around here.
Let me tell you tell this, the general population doesn't give a shit about Blu-Ray (yes that's Blu, not Blue)
Oh and his point was that a Blu-Ray player plays no part in a media center, and seeing as 99% of the people use Windows, i'd say a Microsoft made console does a better job then a Sony one, and seeing as i use my 360 for this, and i got access to all my video and music files without having to go through a lot of trouble, i'd say the 360 does a great job.
Now continue with the fanboy crap and you will see your posts go bye bye again. I'm extremely tired of your very limited view on things and your extreme fanboy crap. We get it, you like your PS3. No one cares. Oh and that's not because people are anti-PS3, it's just because you talk so much shit.
