Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
But there are also pros about it being "online"
For example, you have a desktop where you usually play diablo, and you are going to a friends'. You want to show him off your char, now you can. It's no big deal cmon.
Most likely if you are in a place without internet it is because you are in vacation to another place (which I belive you have something to do other than playing computer) or your internet went down and if this is the case it won't be very frequent. In case that it is, change your internet, that's simple enough
Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
Problems about it being purely online :
1) Lag
2) Possibility to get disconnected
3) Potential downtime
4) And not to forget, can't play it on my laptop if I'm not at a place with internet
there are more but those are what bothers me most for a single player game
Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
7mb bandwith , ISP=RDS , price=3$ , but requires 3g connection which is not available everywhere

10$ for all of that? You must live in dreamland.
Yes maybe it's cheaper than other places, but still I wanted to make a point, and regarding the disrespect part, I can't stand by why someone makes fun of me for no real reason

I for example pay 10$ month for fiberoptic internet 100mbps + telephone + cable tv.
(An usb stick costs 10$ from vodafone and you have 7mbps line)
I lack maturity?
You have absolutely ZERO comprehension that maybe the rest of the world isn't like your country, yet I'm the one acting like a child? $10 for 100mb fiber + cable? Wow you live in the land of dreams.
How about the rest of the world where it costs us ~$70 a month for 5Mb (that's bits, not bytes) ADSL2+ and the average person still uses dialup?

Yes and I understand you are saying your point of view that I may not know of, why do you have to go out and start calling me a joke ?
That is the problem I see here, you call me a joke for saying that I agree with blizzard in making this game online... and that I think the people that can afford diablo3 also afford an internet connection.
Anyway, we are getting too offtopic here, we'll continue this some other time. Goodluck :)
Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
Since its going to be an online game, is there a limit on how many players get on the game or server? Because the only thing I remembered when I want to play with friends in D2 I have to connect on my friends ip to play with him.
And also since there are few characters, are we gonna be clones?
Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
The servers have load balancer and they use cloud system, so basicly it's one big enormours server with thousands of mini-rooms. The characters are clone yes but the item system is so diverse and random that it will be almost impossible for 2 people to have same items.
Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
I wish they did add some sort of customization on initial character creation. I know armor etc will make people look different but I personally like to change my character's face.
Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
It could probably be cracked just like AC2 was cracked... That also required a permanent internet connection.
The solution was running a bogus server faking to be Ubi's on your own PC, and sending all the right keys and whatnot to the game.
Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
Except there is more server interaction then just sending keys. Quests, mobs, item drops, skills etc are all server side. It would require making an emulator on the same scale as a normal MMO.
Re: Regarding Diablo 3...
I do suppose it's on a larger scale, yeah :/
Things that had to be sent in AC2 were the main quest line and sidequests, and achievements. Mobs, drops and skills add a whole new level of difficulty to the mix :/
But D3 being popular enough, I strongly believe people will try their hardest to crack 'er.

Well as I said in an earlier post, there is already a working emulator...
You can't really crack the game since it's online, you need to make a private emulator :)
