So, What do you guys think is better, in my opinion Rock Band is better because of the wider choice of instruments and the ability to play with other people as a full band.. The songs are also better in Rock band, they're not metal.. but they're good songs to play.
rock band = better for partys and get togethers.
guitar hero = better for home play
guitar hero, its the best why, You can get skilled at it and it gets harder and harder with, Rock Band its pretty easy so could tell I like hard games
why would you want to play this crap at all ?
for parties everyone has a pc or laptop and all play on some private ro server !
Lol Guitar Hero is the original, Rock Band is merely a spin off because of the success of GH. So yeah, GH will always be better. Except for GH: Rock The 80s.
Rock Band is the REAL Guitar Hero. It's by Harmonix - the creators of GH: Encore and II. =P
It's just a spin off, the drum set alone for it is gunna cost a bomb (if I'm correct there's gonna be a drum simulation kind of thing?)

Harmonics has been making music games for many years prior to their Guitar Hero game and with Rock Band they combined their old singing game with their guitar game and made a drum game to go with it.
So what do you have with it? 3 games in one that fell like they should. Sure it's easier but it's not geared for hard core guitar playing but balanced across everything. Though if you want a challenge then play one the of the songs they just released as it's harder then anything I've ever seen on GH3 or other games.
Then you also have to look at the over all presentation of the game. GH3 is a joke. It looks like utter crap where as Rock Band does look good. The attention to detail they put into the game is amazing.
Then when you look at the content in the two games it's just not comparable. The song track that comes with Rock Band in my opinion far exceeds that of Guitar Hero 3 and not to mention there is dozens of songs you can also download and there will be dozens to come.
In all honesty it's worth the extra $70 that it costs over GH3 since you will be getting a total of 4 different options of play. Vastly better multilayer. Well balanced sound track. And a game that plays very smoothly.

HarmoniX is great at this type of game and are finally releasing RB to wii owners on june 22nd (no online at all atm and 5 "exclusive" songs) for 169.99 and im psyched about it. as im wii only and if its as fun as Ps3 it will be good.
Activision needs to make a new game not just a dam fallow up to a tony hawk game or a call of duty... they are geting old and tiresome.
look at some of the new people like gamecock and the games they are making... activision is dieing fast....
look at the GH peripherals 70 bucks for a wii guitar w/o wii mote, Ps3 is 70 bucks but can play out of box. 40 bucks more and your wii guitar is useable... o and look at the face plates or the lack of face plates on the wii... 1 white and 1 shown on the box and 2 other crappy ones, Ps3/360 all the box ones + more - talk about screwing wii owners
o look Dlc 3 songs a month for Gh3... and RB? lets see by the store it looks like its daily but its weekly... sometimes songs for Dlc on Ps3 for Gh3 dont make it on
I wonder if Harmonix is actually going to make the Wii version or is the secondary company they hired out to do the PS2 version is going to make it. :eh:
Who knows but I just wonder what the 5 extra songs are. Will the be some of the downloadable ones? Who knows...
Also I wonder if the Wii version will support DLC or not. Right now I have just over 1/2 of the DLC songs and it's taking up well over 1gb of storage on my PS3. Meh...
And the DLC songs for GH3 is a total joke. You got what? A few songs every other month? With Rock Band you get 3-6 songs every week at lower costs then the GH3 songs also. Not to mention instead of just getting 1 game per song you get 4 which makes the value of them go up even higher.
Activision is just leeching GH franchise for all it's worth. Hell look at them and their PS3 guitar. They refuse to let Harmonix/MTV Games release a patch to allow their guitar to work on the PS3 version of Rock Band just because MTV Games does not want to pay them a % of the Rock Band sells.
What a greedy company Activision is...

You cant play rock band with the guitar hero guitar.. I was planning on buying gh3 guitar from a friend to use with rockband -_-
well they are both good games but i would probely choose rock band because i like the drums
Not on the PS3 that is. The x360 and the PS2 versions let you use the guitar.
