I think the diffrence is that most companys have the warnings well hidden in the EULA that next to no one has ever read :p
EA stupidly put a page in there box, which stood out. Missinformed people who dont relise this is common practice go ape shit thinking EA are stealing there credit card details, and heaven forbid there IP aswell! lol
yea i saw a tv program with something about this on it, apparently the amount we pay for new games $50 etc. just isn't footing the bills for the rising costs in game development, thats why the sports games are jam paced full of sideline adds, because it increases the cash inflow so they can cover the outgoings. with games like battlefield its harder to get ads in on the game so i assume to cover their costs they had to do this.
What a clever move eh..?
