Exactly. I have dealt with a few people recently with this issue. Seems that if they hadn't played it back in 97 or so, they look at it now and just see "blocky characters" and "crappy summons"... Sure, compared to FFX and other new games it is "crappier" graphic wise, but the game is awesome. Maybe you really do have to be there to really enjoy it..

Funny part is explaining to people at the time it was the best looking RPG ever made :P

Think you are right. I was so enamored with FFVII, Wild Arms, Suikoden, Tales of Destiny, Breath of Fire III, etc. etc... Those games had such great stories, and tons of gameplay elements.. New games look nicer of course, but at what cost?

Though I will say this, I do like Wild Arms on PS more than the new ones, graphic wise.. Something about certain graphics turn me on/off..

in conclusion... i think sony knows perfectly what are they doing, i read in other places that tha companies always lose money when they make a new console (like xbox, ps2, dream cast, cube) but they get the money back within a year or less. (the games :D) anyway the customers (WE) just as always expect the best.

as Becky says there is a lot of people that think "graphics" are everything, and they dont play classics games like FF series. if they look a little more theyll see an excellent games like:

clastlevania series and symphony of the night (my favorite), valkerye profile, star ocean, dragon quest, metroid (super metroid), breath of fire, secret of mana (2 only in emulator or japan T.T) , chrono trigger, silent hill series, resident evil, the legend of zelda, ect. and this is just console. (pc had a good games too)

Becky.. I never knew you was into all this stuffs ! IMO Sony do know what they are doing and reviewers where right in saying this the going to be a war. They are all fighting for the NO1 spot. Thought it was funny when sony had an interview and they awnsered "The PS3 has better graphic quality, better online play, better market place, better games than microsoft could ever conjour up." I couldnt stop laughing at this, some people may think and want sony too make the wrong discission but they do know what they are doing. PS might vanish but there high quality products will still carry on.

1. PS3 "Hub". Personally, I think they might be able to beat Xbox Live, or at least match it.

I cant wait for ps3 but I hear its gonna cost 300-500 dollars and if thats true I will have to wait like I did for ps2.... or if I have a job that would be different but I hope to god I'm not that lazy to not get a job by end of this year. Another thing I wanna see is all the companies come together and make one system and set of games and see how that works out.

Playstation is a massive multi-millionaire company, they could run there company for years to come. No one on this thread knows the true story, and i can say now, the amount they rake in will be enough not even to worry about a few share holders. Cause those positions will be filled in as quick as pigs eat shit.
Furthermore Playstation is a gaming dream, practically 3/4 of the gamers out there play the playstation or 'have' done. They know they have the quality and the performance to produce amazing games. And shown it with lots of games.
PS outruns nintendo, xbox (microsoft) any day, the real threat of playstation to becomming exstinct is the fact that Bill Gates could be possibly buying PS company, which in this case, Playstation will be shut down, forthcoming Microsoft controlling PS and the Xbox companys, in which case, imo will be made in to one console. Costing the customers more money. But hey, bill gates coudnt care shit considering he has 990,000,000 to his name. Equivelent to the 4th richest country in world, which the united kingdom, shocking.


Which will happen in 10 years, i can guarantee it ^__^
