You must have shit taste. JC2 was like 3 euros. there are these great games. what games do you so you dont find anything for you?
Sounds like your internet is the problem, not SimCity 5. Just think of it like an MMO, you would expect to have to stay online for them and no one complains.
SC5 has many issues, it's online connectivity is the least of it's problems. The mechanics behind it are flawed, as anyone who plays for a day will notice. The whole any sim can have any job, and they drive to the closest job to them is retarded. This is before we go into the stupidity of using the same system for sewage and water, as if it's made in blobs rather than constant flow/pressure.

Yes it is my internets problem but ive read some feedback on the game.. you cant save so if EA has a problem or you have a problem then
your game is messed. and once again nothing bad to say about the game itself since i have played very little of it.

Like I said, online aspect is probably one of the best things about the game. I've played MMOs for years, I came to terms with needing the internet to play a game a long time ago. Once you've lived through using a 56k modem with a 2 hour disconnected, and loosing a fair amount of daily progress because of that DC, not to mention lag. Current internet connections are fine, and complaining about them is frankly, to me, ridiculous.
Multiplayer is the main reason I play games. If I wanted to be entertained alone, I'd go watch TV. The story for a game should be based around the social interactions with other players, not arbitrary bits of code written to normally frustrate people. I personally feel SimCity5 didn't go far enough with the online aspect, with multiplayer barely touching your city. I'd have preferred it if friends could have an active part in developing a city.
So yeah, people treating online connectivity as a fundamentally bad thing can go fuck themselves.

If you'd live in estonia you would compalin too. The best internet provider always has server problems and blames it on others. Once i move to france ill have proper internet that doesnt dc all the time. then ill maybe try Simcity 5. :)
Re: Steam Summer Sale 2013
Anything having 80% or above off is worth buying since they can't go any cheaper than that. The rest you can simply trade with ruskies.

I totally get it, you are trying to play modern games on decade old infrastructure. But to me, a game without the online aspect is like a game 10 years ago was without sound, or hell video. I truly feel sorry for anyone who has to suffer through shit internet providers, and frankly it pisses me off that we as a planet haven't shared as much connectivity tech as possible to give everyone semi-decent connections. I'm currently involved in a project to provide community centres in rural southern Africa, and my biggest issue is with internet connections (when my colleagues are talking about providing video lectures to health workers etc...)
But seriously, I don't think that should be a reason it complain about a game. My PC isn't that great and can't run some new games, I don't complain about graphics being too good, I just don't buy the game. Just because I personally cannot enjoy a product, doesn't mean I shouldn't want anyone else to enjoy it. That's just fundamentally mean spirited imo.

Required online connectivity is and always will be a bad thing for games which can have offline single-player with minimal effort, especially when the company does this simply to maximize revenue.
Simply horrible concept. There are thousands of gamers without access to constant and reliable internet access. Hardcore DRM such as this has been proven to be bad countless times. Please, let more games have online access, but don't require it.
Re: Steam Summer Sale 2013
Already missed out on some epic sales. Already bought AC III for the Multiplayer, and May Payne 3.

exactly.
I can play multiplayer yet sometimes my internet goes tits up.(as I've said it atleast 10 times in this thread. Simcity requires constant internet connection, i understand them. It's against piracy, But if im right someone already cracked their silly DRM. Its just like Spore...
They made a DRM to stop piracy, yet now Spore is the most pirated game ever. There is a better and less annoying ways to stop piracy. I dont know how, but there must be a way wich will be less annoying and much harder to crack.

GTA4, Sniper 2: GW, CoJ: G & Anti-Chamber also sounds quite interesting. Keeping an eye on the sales now.

GTA IV is a flash sale right now.
Re: Steam Summer Sale 2013
Got a few good games this year, though I think I enjoyed last year's sale a bit more. This year was mostly buying dirt cheap dated games to play on really bored days. such as System Shock 2 and Torchlight II.

I disagree. Frankly people complain too much about that. The thing is that as soon as you can play it without internet, lots of player will be downloading illegally. Companies need to sell their game to keep making quality games and updating their old ones.
Don't get me wrong, I've downloaded lots of games that way, but since I can afford them legally, I don't anymore, but still the point is that it's better for the industry that games get bought, if this is the way to do that (and it's definitely a way to do it) then so be it.

TL2 is dated? :P
Anyway I upgraded my Civ5 to gold for 2,50, got TL2 as a gift and bought Fallout New Vegas. I wanted to pick up Skyrim, but I want a better deal. :P
There just wasn't that much to buy for me anymore, I've done all these sales before and picked up all those packages etc etc.

Totally meant the first Duex Ex. The "2" in System Shock must have made me think of Torchlight, as I did buy those together at the same time. Oops. :P
