so ... what is the price ??
Yeah I'm sure. But like I said it's only *rumored*. It was stated in there that the PS3 was around £100 more than what the PS4 is to be upon release.
Quote:
Sony is considering pricing the next PlayStation £300, according to UK newspaper The Times (paywall).
"Industry sources and leaked internal documents suggest that Sony is considering pricing the new device at about £300, more than £100 cheaper than the starting cost of its predecessor, the PlayStation 3," says the report.
The PlayStation 3 launched in the UK at £425.
Technology reporter Murad Ahmed said on Twitter that the £300 price is "local UK pricing" and "not a yen conversion" in response to a question posed by gofreak.
A report from earlier this month by Japanese newspaper Ashai Shimbun claimed Sony was aiming for a 40,000 yen (around £270) price for its next upcoming console.
Ah that could make sense, when the PS3 came out blueray was just still new and even at over $900 it was still cheaper than any Blueray player on the market. Sony was losing on the sale of every PS3, it cost them more to make it than they sold it for. But it's been a while and it's pretty mainstream now so it would be alot cheaper, not to mention the APU they made with AMD would most probably cost less than the cell processor and dedicated GPU the PS3 has.
It should be cool.
Specs seem fine.
It seems like a nice system, but I just hope they make a good UI or charge for PSN.
No wtf? Thats why i have a PS3. So that i dont have to pay for online multiplayer. The PS4 Controller is pretty nice though :P
I'm not too fond of the PS4 Remotes really. The current remotes which are standard cost £30.00 odd. With a built in Mic and touch screen pad on it. Arn't we talking about £40-50 for a Remote?
Can someone clarify what's so special with PS4?
I have PS3 what's the major upgrade?
Owned a 360 but not the PS3 [cause all the games I've played were available for both], this time around think I'll be taking the PS4 over the '720'.
lol I own both PS3 and 360, played the 360 way more since I bought the 360 first. I will however, probably not get the new ps4 or "720" till it drops half of the price. To be honest I rather save the 800$ and buy me a Dual GPU and run most games at ultra setting with 60FPS on my PC :D
