Kaoii you speak of mu as something between you and the devs has happened, as there was conflict between you and MU, but answer me this, werent you the one who was GM in a MU Server of your friend named "Aleano"? werent you the one advertising on the ad section? you enjoyed playing the game and every second of it, then you moved on to CZ, please do not diss the shit you did long ago, and MU section is just fine in my opinion, the game owns!
Every day when i log onto msn i have 10 - 20 people who add me because i posted my email once or twice in that section, i'd say that a quarter of them ask if they can use mysql because they're comp cant handle mssql or why they're server lags so much 128 mb of ram should be enough, etc. people do put server's up and after seeing that now they cant use kazaa or w/e they do they close the server, if you do a search i'm sure you'll find alot of examples of this (i remember a few). A guy i showed mu wanted to host a server on his shit system that had like 600mhz and 256mb ram and he did it and was going to post it until i stopped him.Quote:

MU would have been fine if many noobs hadn't come along, and now the people who help get overwhelmed and leave (look at the mods for example they quit after a month or two). Now all the server stats have to be maxed out everyone has to wear the best items and have to have blessbug on or nobody will play that server. Other games are alot more advanced in the server side config, check out the other games on rz or nwn for example, and anyway most of that section is noobs begging for servers or asking the same questions and other bullshit instead of talking about server config.

A normal humans def of a good GM: A gm that would turn n00bs down if they ask for stuff, never give anyone anything and make the game very challenging!
I am part of both... the good part = everything, the bad part = there is a kid in my class that will do my homework for me every time i give him 100 stat points, his name is [BETATESTER] in-game, and we agreed that if i give him 32k all and best items he will do all my homeworl & projects for the whole simester.. MU DRIVES PPL MAAAAAAAAAAAAD

Until 97 servers the section was ok , we had a few workers there , then suddenly a boom happened and we had kids dumbs and anything you can imagine ( maybe 5% of good workers that understood the game itself )
then the rumours of 98.03 happened , but since 95% was just using my files ( 97 v ) that were compiled with a few friends , Vegx , bsfmx , chinese comunity , me , kev and a few more , and never study the game it went down , too many players with a server , even at servers with HIGH stats ppl tended to Hack it ( dont see the point of hacking on a game that uyou can get to level 350 in 5 hours )
On the Original server i had some problems with the GMS and DEVS , do tue my "emails" , i cant understand why they never took down the hackers when we could check them on the private and remove them , specially when they had the the gamemu manager working at 100% and its easy to delete and check logs
Also after being hacked ( due to a stupid asp and sql problem on their site ) ( that they were warned ) i returned on the 98c to see my char stripped level 111 and with a +9 sphinx+luck+opt on the vault _( dupped and bugged ) that i cant use and that gms and devs cant do shit about it
on mu ya guys just need the server files and 5 posts with faqs , if you cant make it work by just following the txt you shouldnt bother.
I had the servers working on an amd k6-2 with 512mb ( 4gb Cache ) working on a lan for testing , but for optimal use and more than 100 players you need a nice connection ( UPLOAD should be higher than 512kb ) 1gb ram and a p4 do wonders ,( ofc you cant use that pc for anything else like some guys posted above )
Mu for me is dead since 96y ( 97b and d are just patched gameservers nothing else ) and the 98.03 never worked at 100% , only thing doable on the server to make it better its to do some mods like we started to do , the stadium , new skins , new stats on weapons , raise of xp , correction of levels etc etc ( the last 3 are doable if you know assembly at least to see how it goes
but MU doesnt have , it HAD , for me at start the pleasure of hacking it , then the pleasure to manage it , then the pleasure to get bored with it
