We can obviously tell which games will be sold very quickly, and be talked about for ages. Here is a few that I have picked which will be talked about for a good time:
- Gears Of War 2
- Fable 2
- Saints Row 2
- GTA IV
- MGS4
- SSBB
- God Of War 3
- Dark Sector
There is more, but you can pick your own selection of games which will dominate this year. So what are your thoughts and opinions share it on this thread, and see what reaction we shall get.

GTA IV and Prototype. Two very amazing games coming this year. As for things I'm looking for: GTAIV, Fable 2, GoW2, Prototype.
GTA4 and MGS4 will dominate awards this year easily. Both are amazing game series and it's hard to find a better franchise out this year.
Some other notable games to mention are Spore and Star War The Force Unleashed. Both look very promising and will defiantly do well.
Also I doubt very well that Saints Row will do any good this year. The only reason it had a minor success was because there wasn't a next gen GTA game which is what it was trying to do. This year we got just that so it will not do as well.

Oh wow forgot Force Unleashed. That is sure to be a huge one just for the amazing things it's doing with the engines. Not to mention it's Star Wars! Star Wars! But no one on Prototype? It looks so sweet!
Gears of war 2 hands down. Who doesn't love spreading blood and guts all over your screen and the floor. its just so fun.
GoW2, GTA4, MGS4 (FTW) and i personally want Dark Sector :)

I totally loved the first one and i'm SOOO gonna get the new one as soon as it is released :o

I don't follow the game industry that much anymore so most of those names are totally unfamiliar to me, however I'm looking forward to Starcraft 2 and GTA IV with great excitement.
Not a console player so will sadly miss out on some amazing titles (especially fable 2 and god of war 3). But there is always Assassins creed for PC, Starcraft 2, Kane's Wrath, and hopefully some more epic RPG's.

but it u want to make a prediction for 2009 then definitly God of warr 3 and final fantasy 13

I really do hope it comes out this year as it's just going to be amazing. Just like how the original one was amazing 10 years ago. But for some reason I just feel that it will some home get pushed back to next year.
You do realize that this year is the year of the PS3? The first 2 months of this year saw the PS3 beat out the x360.
Then take in to the consideration of how many big name PS3 exclusives are coming out this year and then take a look at the x360's offerings.
Sure the x360 has GoW2 and Fable 2 at the end of the year but what does the PS3 have? Next month we have GT5 Prologue which is nothing more then a fancy demo of GT5 which will easily sell 1-2 million copies quickly. Not just that but you also have MGS4 which is the only game coming out this year that has any hopes of touching GTA 4 in sales.
Those 2 games will drive at least 1-2 million new sales for the PS3 this year. Not to mention with the PS3 being the best BluRay player on the market, it will also drive up sales even more. On top of that the PS3 will be dropping in price in no time to match the x360 in price and then you'll have all the PS2 fanboys rushing to get the PS3 as it's affordable.
Funny enough, the PS2 itself still out sells most systems and once the PS3 gets down into the $200-300 range you'll see those sales shit from the PS2 to the PS3.
So a lot of people will care about the PS3.

True, but it was said to come out in 2008 so I'm going by that. Hope it does cause we've sure been waiting long enough already, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it doesn't make it, either.
Sadly I only a couple of days ago realized GTA IV won't be available on PC, that's no GTA for me. Oh well, not like it would've run well, anyway.
Starcraft 2 or Gears Of War 2 will kill anything. And yet again PS3 is in the shitter.
